MWEB GameZone writes: "The combination of cinematics and music, combined with our expectation of a particular game and our first moments of that game make gaming intros an unforgettable experience."
Cinematics just keep getting better and better! I don't mind watching 15 minute inserts anymore :D
Honestly amazes me how far cinematics have come in gaming. Look at what was the standard 5 years ago compared to now and you will be amazed!
Uncharted 2 into was epic. . Also God of War Ascension. An even Assassin's Creed Revelations intro was great.
Final Fantasy 8 had the best intro I've ever had the pleasure to witness.
I was thinking this myself, as soon as someone mentions top video game intros, FF8 is always the first one that comes to mind. Back when it was first showcased, it was on a completely different level to anything I've seen on a console.
If Dawn of War intro isn't on here forget about it.
The 8-Bit NES version of Ninja Gaiden still holds the #1 spot IMHO.
I think FFVIII sucks, but to say FFVII had a better intro than VIII is just a fallacy
FFVII's intro engages the player directly into action and successfully intrigued the player's interest and from there onward it's history on every single level. You are right about one thing though; ff8 did suck.
Onimusha 2: Demon Siege. *drops mic*
Mortal Kombat Shaolin Monks.
For me (in no particular order), this includes both playable and cinematic intros: - The Last of Us - Uncharted 2 - God of War 2 and 3 - Mass Effect 2 - The Wonderful 101 - Saints Row 3 - Star Fox 64 - The Beatles: Rock Band - Grand Theft Auto IV :)
Hmm Mass Effect 2 and Mass Effect 1. Dark Souls did it for me too. Dark Souls II nowhere near as much.
God of war 3
Exactly what I was going write. Love that intro.
Megaman X5 had pretty nice intro. Also pretty much any modern DBZ game...
