When news broke the other day that Crytek’s Ryse: Son of Rome was coming to the PC, I thought about how Microsoft’s value proposition for its Xbox One is shrinking.
I mostly agree with the article. It's the same thing that happened last gen. I bought a PS3 and had a moderately ok PC. I didn't have a lot of interest in Halo or Gears so there was very very little I missed out on. Conversely, if I didn't buy a PS3 I'd be missing out on a lot. Admittedly, MS seem to be trying prevent this occurrence of their games eventually moving to the PC, but as we can see it's still happening and quite rapidly too. It's not even been a year into this generation and already Dead Rising 3 and Ryse are already announced to be moving to the PC. That's why if I ever come to buy another console to go along side my PS4 is will most certainly be a Wii U.
Microsoft has been devaluing the xbone since release @ launch the xbone was $500 next thing you know it was $450 with A free game then it was 400 (no kinect) soon it will be $400 with A free game (madden) all the game that were ever bundled with the xbone were new games @ $60 retail when you bundle these games the basic xbone sku's(without A game) lose there value by at lease $50-$60. Why buy A basic xbone @ this point for $400 when the madden bundle is 5 days away for the same price even if you don't like madden you can sell it and basically have A xbone for $345-$360 which is the same price the basic xbone retails for on eBay right now these bundles are good for customers but bad for microsoft. I commend them though.
And don't forget the devaluation of the Xbox 360. All of these games were once exclusive but came to PS3 or PC later on: Mass Effect 2 Ninja Gaiden 2 Bioshock Star Ocean IV Eternal Sonata Limbo Braid Oblivion Lost Planet Overlord Castle Crashers Alan Wake Peggle The Last Remnant Now add Ryse, Dead Rising 3 and PvZ Garden Warfare and you'll see just how fast history repeats itself, that's some next-gen level of devaluation. Edit: Before the Xbox Defense Force disagrees, please name 5 PS3 timed exclusive games. Actually, try to name even one... I can't remember any.
@Zod You can add Metro2033 to that list as well. Comes out on PS4 soon. Fez and Minecraft came to Playstation a year later too I believe, give or take. Mark of the Ninja, State of Decay and Trials Evolution wound up on PC later as well. It *is* hard to think of some the other way, but Guacamelee was one PS3 exclusive that made it to Xbox and Nintendo this year. Outlast just went console multiplatform too. The only retails that come to mind at the moment are former PSP exclusives like MetalGearSolid Peacewalker and AC Liberation which made it to 360 eventually.
PC gamers are constantly told on this site that we are a marginal group and a completely separate market from the consoles. So if that is true, why should this be a problem for the Xbox One? Why is it when Sony fanboys are wanting to bash the XB1 everybody suddenly has a gaming PC? But when they want to bash PC gamers suddenly the PC is an unimportant platform that is a completely separate market and can't be compared to consoles in any way? You can't have it both ways. If the PC getting some Xbox exclusives is any kind of threat to the XB1 it would prove beyond a shadow of a doubt that PC gaming is not a separate market. It would prove that the PC is just another option for gamers and therefor should be allowed in discussions and comparisons with the PS4 and other consoles.
I agree. What makes a console worth it are it's exclusives. If it doesn't have that many exclusives worth having, then what's the point of purchasing the console?... and that goes for both the X1 and PS4.
Thats what we did, Xbox One isn't worth it.
Xbox one is worth it. :) It has the exclusives i want. The fact that i dont game on pc makes the xbox still a better choice for me.
It always was and always will be about exclusives. Its those that differentiate the consoles. Build an identity almost. Ms still has a while to fix things so its not all doom n gloom. The games mentioned going to pc were probably heading there regardless if sales. The change at the helm was too late to affect those said titles destinations. From here on though, ms need to commission and churn out more 'true' exclusives. Take more risks. Allow more creative freedom for the dev teams within. They've had their warnings. Its not just about the number of dev teams and studios ......its about the output
But if the game isn't available on the rival console then it is still a console exclusive right? I thought PC was a completely separate market...as I've been told many times on this site. If that is the case then a console exclusive showing up on the PC shouldn't have any impact on the "console war". Consoles and PCs shouldn't be compared, right? Or is it that you don't want comparisons to the PC only when it makes the PS4 look bad? If bringing the PC into the equation makes the Xbox One look bad, however, you guys are all for it.
Maybe you're missing the point. Console exclusive was a term created last gen to make something seem greater than what it was. The games that are available on ps4 and pc are as you describe as console exclusives but they dont add 'as much' value as true exclusives. Too much goal post shifting. Exclusives aren't playable on more than a single platform. We pretty much all have pcs. The reason for the article is because the author acknowledges that by making games available on pc as well as console it lessens the need to purchase the console, hence, devaluing. Comparisons to pc.......what are you on about. How has the opinion of devaluing got anything to do with comparisons to pc? You sure are creative with your rebuttals
@CaptainObvious878, I've been preaching this all along, if you have a decent PC gaming spec, and you have a PS4, you are pretty much covered all gaming. One advantage of PS4 (or even PS3), the exclusives will NOT make it over to the PC side, while on Xbox, those "exclusives" will eventually make their way to PC.
I would pick up a WiiU before I pick up an X1 also. Halo is great but not really into MP and I've played the crap out of all of them already and Sunset Overdrive is not something that looks substantial. What else is there? In the first three months of 2015 the X1's library is going to pale in comparison to PS4, it already does as of now and it's just going to get worse.
1st off the article intentionally creates a bunch of parameters to try to downplay the XBOX list. It can't be on last gen regardless of who developed or published it and it can't be on on going to PC. MSFT is a software company whose bread and butter is working with PC. I'm sure some real time strategy games will be on XB1 and PC this gen, as well as other games. Even after eliminating games playable on XB1 not ps4 such as: Ryse, Dr3, Titanfall, Ori and the Blind Forest, Forza Horizon 2, and Project Spark. XB1 still has more and better games, and I only count KI once and didn't count xbox fitness. 2nd MSFT OWNS Quantum Break, you can find the patent if you would like or just do a google search. If it did go to PC at least 1 year later, I DON'T CARE, the more money MSFT makes on game sales, the better for me as an XBOX gamer. PC is not in competition with consoles, I heard many times on this site, "I'll just get it on PC, when in actuality only a fraction play console games on PC. Also with upcoming games like Batman, The Division, The Witcher... I don't hear anything about PC all I hear people talk about are XB1 and ps4 versions. Or games that already released like Watch Dogs and Wolfenstein I didn't hear anything about PC. ps4 fans love to talk about getting the best version, well if they really had PC's like they claim they do, they would almost always go for the PC version, yet they don't. PC is just a convenient way for ps4 fans to further their downplay agenda, which is laughable because 80% of ps4 games right now are ON PC. When we talk about games I alwasy see at least 1 ps4 fan post that list of 90+ games, well all that's left is 10 games when you exclude last gen and PC. 3rd the author calls Uncharted a juggernaut, well it doesn't even sell better than the 2nd largest Juggernaut on XBOX, despite being given away each time, no special edition anything, just the game for free. 4th I'll take the bolded XB1 games over the bolded ps4 games, regardless of where they end up. Halo MCC, Halo 5, Gears, Quantum Break, Sunset Overdrive >> Driveclub, Uncharted, the Order, Bloodborne. The only upcoming Xb1 game that MSFT doesn't own is Sunset Overdrive.
"Even after eliminating games playable on XB1 not ps4 such as: Ryse, Dr3, Titanfall, Ori and the Blind Forest, Forza Horizon 2, and Project Spark. XB1 still has more and better games, and I only count KI once and didn't count xbox fitness." So… Microsoft has made some CGI trailer announcements of games they have coming out in 2016, whilst Sony hasn't revealed their 2016 lineup, and to you that means that Xbone has more exclusives. LOL no. It would be nice if you actually managed to provide a list of all games on PS4 than aren't available on Xbone, but we all know you actually have no real idea. You guys are always listing but a fraction of PS4 exclusives that aren't on Xbone, whilst listing all Xbone games you know about. It's ridiculous. ========== "2nd MSFT OWNS Quantum Break, you can find the patent if you would like or just do a google search. If it did go to PC at least 1 year later, I DON'T CARE, the more money MSFT makes on game sales, the better for me as an XBOX gamer" You DEFINITELY can't say you don't care when you make as much effort as you do to make exclusives comparison lists, with games that aren't even exclusive, and by that exact same definition, PS4 has more and better rated games. Secondly, Microsoft doesn't make money from PC game sales. Having a TOP TIER Xbone exclusive go to PC, however you attempt to spin it, doesn't strengthen the perception of the Xbone. ========== "I alwasy see at least 1 ps4 fan post that list of 90+ games, well all that's left is 10 games when you exclude last gen and PC." If you DO see that list of 10 exclusives, it still outweighs the Xbone tally, so I can't see how you think you are making any kind of point. Gamers I know and respect appreciate diversity in a game lineup, and PS4 has the best diversity of any next gen console. ========== "the author calls Uncharted a juggernaut, well it doesn't even sell better than the 2nd largest Juggernaut on XBOX, despite being given away each time, no special edition anything, just the game for free." LOL: http://www.vgchartz.com/gam... http://www.vgchartz.com/gam... And since when does GEARS OF WAR get given away for free? ========== "I'll take the bolded XB1 games over the bolded ps4 games, regardless of where they end up" Do you actually think anyone believes that you wouldn't? What a laughable statement to make. Only proves that bias and insecurity is what drives your comments, never facts.
5th all your sad desperate fanboy excuses still don't make the XBox One worth it, and this is coming from a person who loves the 360 and owns hundreds of games for it (me). After last year's E3 and Microsoft's bungled plans (always-on DRM and no used game sales, plus the forced Kinect gimmick that drained valuable resources from the XB1 console itself), I opted for the PS4 and never looked back. Judging by the current sales, I'm not in the minority at all.
Too stupid, didn't read. btw here's a bonus pic that make you feel a lil better lel http://postimg.org/image/uk...
@truefan: "1st off the article intentionally creates a bunch of parameters to try to downplay the XBOX list." Just like how you intentionally create parameters to try and downplay playstation games? "Even after eliminating games playable on XB1 not ps4 such as: Ryse, Dr3, Titanfall..." Given recent developments, those games might end up on PS4, too. "XB1 still has more and better games, and I only count KI once and didn't count xbox fitness." A) "better" is opinion. B) "more" is factually incorrect. Xbone 2014: http://www.gamespot.com/art... - 90 games total (1st, 2nd, and 3rd party) PS4 2014: http://www.gamespot.com/art... - 138 total games (1st, 2nd, and 3rd party) "2nd MSFT OWNS Quantum Break, you can find the patent" They don't file patents on games, so sorry... "I DON'T CARE" You sure cared enough to post a wall of text, and downplay PS4 like you usually do. "ps4 fans love to talk about getting the best version, well if they really had PC's like they claim they do..." They talk about getting the best console version... And they play it on console because they prefer console over PC. And I know it's not that uncommon for people to get a game for multiple platforms (i.e. PC, and console). "3rd the author calls Uncharted a juggernaut..." That's because it is. "4th I'll take the bolded XB1 games over the bolded ps4 games" ... Captain obvious called... "... Sunset Overdrive >> Driveclub..." That's another opinion. And you conveniently listed less PS4 titles (again, in one if your failed attempts at downplaying playstation games).
I think there is a small group of morons that write these similar articles and then come on the forums like news for gamers and use multiple accounts to pump up their own and each others bs articles. They know the general public is easily manipulated and they prey on them. Thanks for keeping it classy guys.
Wow. First Ryse was reviewed as a piece of crap. Now that it is on PC a year later, it is devaluing X1. Which one is it? Can't be both.
I thought the same thing. It was a game all critics hated, people made fun of, a year later it jumps to PC, now it's causing this massive stink like it spells doom for the Xbone. It's just odd how people act.
It can be both. Ryse has a defense force.
Bigpappy why can't it be both? If your selling a game as exclusive and it turns out not to be that is not good, doesn't matter how crap the game might be Exclusives are the main reason people would choose one console over another as it is the xone doesn't have that many and what they have seem to be heading for the PC anyway, suggesting a PS4 and PC is a good combo for gamers or as others have said WiiU. Seriously why bother with the xone?
Because not everybody likes gaming on PC, as I've been told countless times by console gamers on this site. Why does every console gamer suddenly have a PC, but only when it comes time to have an excuse to bash the XB1? If all of you Sony fanboys really had good gaming PCs you wouldn't be buying multiplats on the PS4 or singing the praises of the superior multiplats on the PS4 vs the XB1, you would simply buy them for the PC and enjoy the truly superior versions. But you're all frauds. When you want to keep the PC out of the discussion so as to not make the PS4 look bad you claim that the PC is a separate platform and can't be compared to consoles, but when a formerly XB1 exclusive game comes over to the PC then you guys act like it's this big blow to the XB1 because gamers are just going to buy the PC version instead of the XB1 version. "No reason to buy an XB1", you say. Really? So NOW the PC is just another gaming platform that many console gamers own?
I have a PC son. I don't want a PS4 or I would have bought one. You need to work your way though puberty before trying to give others advice on how to spend their money. My main gripe with the Play Station has always been the controller, but recently the attitude and personality of it's fanboys make me say even further away. I prefer to quit gaming than to be on the internet sharing a game and conversation with most of you. So there you have it. Your answer in spades!
@BigPappy: So you hate Playstation fanboys because they're annoying and that turns you off from the platform, but you ignore the fact that Xbox fanboys are just as annoying and apparently, you own an Xbox One... If it bothers you on one end but not on the other, that probably means you side with one and not the other. What I'm saying is you're an Xbox fanboy.
Well said zeuanimals, some people can't cope with the truth Bigpappy it seems is one such person, his answer has fanboy written all over it although his puberty comment made me laugh lol.
Crap or not it was one of the few exclusives Xbox had. All that's left now is forza right? Everything else has gone multi-platform.
Ryse, and DR3 both went to pc (both companies near closing down), they are doing what the have to do to try salvaging their business. Titan Fall was always meant for pc. I haven't seen anything else, go multiplat. Never the less, xbox is moving the needle on 1st party ips, as well as going for more ownership of funded ips (which is most important)to me. The xbox community is in for some amazing gaming this gen, with year one looking to end with a bang... Game on.
Well the "exclusive" Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare is actually releasing on PS4 in 10 days so here's another one.
Why can't it be both? No matter how good or bad it was, it was one of the games that made the XB1 unique, one of the titles you needed THAT hardware for. With exclusivity gone, so goes the necessity for the XB1- in respect to that game, since we're talking about it. Value can rather easily be seen as reasons to buy/own something. So if the XB1 is running out of reasons to buy it, it's losing value. Pretty simple.
@Bigpappy It is a trend that is happening to Titanfall and Dead Rising as well. We can debate as to the reason why they are being thrust on the PC market so early, but the fact is they are there. For a PC gamer, there is no reason to buy a XBOne for those titles, which is great for PC gamers who have seen their market shrink, due largely to consoles. It'll just be at the expense of XBox brand value - and maybe not that much of a loss. Because there are really no system sellers like Halo and Uncharted, but regardless being on PC is going mean these XBOne games are going to sell fewer consoles than PS4 counterparts. But given how PS4 sales are now head and shoulder above XBOne, the argument is still kind of moot. As for Ryse specifically, I doubt Crytek is going to recoup much of anything putting it on PC anyway. But that the developer's fault not Microsoft's policies.
There were and are a lot of vocal proponents of Ryse on this site since its release. If you believe them, it was an enjoyable game. However, I doubt that releasing it on PC will do much for Crytek's bottom line. On the other hand, Dead Rising 3 is something I'm looking forward to when it's released in September.
No one is really going to care a mediocre title is hitting PC but it does set a prescident and it isn't a good one to set this early. But I don't think all third party exclusive titles will make its way to PC. This may be irrelevant as the next time Microsoft comes on stage and announces a big third party exclusive people will be wondering for how long. At the moment they are barely lasting a year
I personally see this as: Capcom- REALLY IN NEED OF MONEY- facing bankruptcy. Crytek- REALLY REALLY REALLY in NEED of MONEY. Bankrupt. These two companies need the money way more than most, and they are PC-friendly devs/publishers to begin with. Not necessarily a logical reason to just assume most Xbox exclusives are coming to PC, not by a long shot.
The fact it can happen means other could hop over. No publisher is going to deny increased profits due to loyalty. I can only imagine a sales clause is in the deal. Other all third parties are wide open for the move.
I doubt Sunset Overdrive will end up on PC. If it is a success then I'm sure MS will do what it can to keep it for Xbox only, at least the first game. Quantum Break is a possibility for PC, but the next Gears of War will likely stay an Xbox One exclusive.
SaveFerris you mention two games that are listed as xbox exclusive but can anyone hand on heart say they won't be coming to PC? MS don't even own the IP so there is every possibility they could even be heading for the PS4 if not the original any sequels would certainly have to be considered for the PS4 with the way it is dominating sales.
Not sure if SSOD will stay console exclusive but QB may have a chance, as MS do own the IP and may publish it years later.
I'm not sure if Insomniac has released a PC game before but Remedy certainly has. Also, SO doesn't really 'look' like a PC game to me, if that makes any sense. True, SO or a sequel could end up on PS4 as I tend to think it is a timed exclusive and there is nothing to suggest that can't be done on the PS4. Back to Quantum Break, this has a much better chance to appear on PC imo because of Remedy and Alan Wake.
Exclusivity is over rated. Only console Stans/fanboys care about it. Some perspective, all these games below have something in common... Best selling games of 2013 - top ten 1) Grand Theft Auto V 2) Call of Duty: Ghosts 3) Madden NFL 25 4) Battlefield 4 5) Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag 6) NBA 2K14 7) Call of Duty: Black Ops II 8) Just Dance 2014 9) Minecraft (Xbox 360 edition) 10) Disney Infinity http://www.computerandvideo...
So, you are surprised that a game exclusive to one console sells less that a game on all platforms?
Thank you... If he compared those multiplatform games on the specific platform's sales with an exclusive game THEN he'd have a basis for his argument.
No, my point was less about sales and more about the fact the most popular games are not exclusives. You can break the list down by platform and the top games are going to be the same GTAV,COD, etc.
Units Sold =/= Game's Quality Take CoD Ghosts as an example.
Quality is subjective... Units sold is trying to measure subjective. Also, units sold is usually pandering to the finance sector and the investors within. Units sold is different from quality. Take the last of us with its 200+ GOTYs and compare it to a (multiplatform, especially) game like gta, bf4, and the like.... Not that the latter aren't a good sign of quality, I'm just saying that the number of units sold greatly out-weigh the game with many, MANY GOTYs.
Fifa is not one of the most sold games of 2013? O_O Sorry but I highly doubt that list to be accurate. Here's another one that states differently. 1. Grand Theft Auto V (Rockstar) 2. FIFA 14 (EA) 3. Call of Duty: Ghosts (Activision) 4. Battlefield 4 (EA) 5. Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag (Ubisoft) 6. Tomb Raider (Square Enix) 7. FIFA 13 (EA) 8. LEGO Marvel Super Heroes (Warner Bros) 9. Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition (Microsoft) 10. The Last of Us (Sony) http://www.mcvuk.com/news/r...
@timlot...but you based your "popularity" idea on the "Best selling games of 2013"...which were all multiplatform...therefore going to sell more because they had more platforms to sell to.
And yet, the best game of last year, or should I say last gen, is not on that list and it's a Playstation EXCLUSIVE. You can add to that the other GOTY's from Playstation and the choice is pretty clear to a gamer that wants the best gaming experience, Playstation. Exclusives are very important.
Best selling games are usually on more than one platform? This is truly a revelation. My perception of reality has been forever altered. The most awarded games last generation, and in particular the most awarded game, were on one system.
To a specific console exclusives are not over rated. That's the main reason for owning a Playstation even though multiplats have their advantages over the X1 versions it's not the reason to own a Playstation, but it helps to have better versions of course.
You need to break down multi-platform games by console to have an accurate comparison between the two. For example, I'm sure GTA would take two spots in the top 5, with XBox 360 version being #1. But TLOU would be somewhere in the middle of the list.
Fist party exclusives went to pc, The shock.
I completely agree with this article and is generally how I view the Xbox One. I own a mid range gaming PC and see no reason to buy an Xbox one. It's as if almost every major selling point for the XOne has contradicted itself, and it all started with the 180's. Now we're even seeing a 180 on their own exclusives which in my opinion was the last real argument they had. Titan Fall, Dead Rising 3, Ryse, Plants vs Zombies, to name a few are all games that were touted as major reasons to own and Xbox one have all gone to PC and potentially coming to PS4. I think the smart thing for Microsoft to do would be another price cut. Maybe bring it down to $300 and i think at that point it makes everyone happy except for Microsoft financially.
The only value Xbox One has to me is that it will play halo. It's a halo box. If Halo doesn't come to Xbox One then I could care less.. But MCC is coming. So it's badass. In my opinion.
Eh...isn't 95% of all those indie games on PS4 PC games as well? A good game is a good game...no matter what platform it ends up on. A bad game is still bad game...no matter what platform it ends up on. You can't "devalue" a console by making its games on other platforms. You devalue a console by having no good games available on it however. Predicting what of these up and coming games are going to be good or bad is pointless.
The point really isn't that you can play the game elsewhere. It's what games does the console have that you CAN'T play elsewhere? That is what the issue is. People choose consoles for many reasons. However, one of the STRONGEST ones is the exclusives that they can't get anywhere else. Though the indies on PS4 can be played on PC, none of its exclusives can. So, if someone wants to play Killzone, Uncharted, TLOU, etc. They HAVE to buy a Playstation console. If someone wants to play RYSE or DR3...MS has now given them an option that doesn't include dropping $400. That's good from a consumer standpoint...more choices. Not so good for the bottom line of MS. That being said, I'm not in the gloom and doom camp. But, it IS an interesting predicament that MS has created when it comes to building a value proposition for the Xbox One.
The quality of a game should define it, not the platform it's on. You and many others have missed my point. You can't devalue a console by letting an average game go to other platforms. I do agree that if you have a stellar, top notch and enjoyable game, you should try and do everything to keep it. Only issue I have with that of course being, I have yet to hear of one released for this next gen of consoles. My other point being, lining up a list like the author of these "up and coming" games and then declaring this or that as superior is just stupid. No one knows what any of these games will be like (with the obvious exception of remasters).
I agree with the premise of a quality title defining itself. I also agree that the way the author went about his comparisons is a bit silly. However, I don't agree that you can't "devalue" a console by putting exclusives on other platforms simply because that is one of many deciding factors for why people purchase a console in the first place.
Xbox lost exclusivity to its LAUNCH titles. Which consists of timed exclusives from Third Party studios. Microsoft does not own the rights to any of those IPs so the devs have every right to put their games wherever they want to.
It's a similar situation with X360, it had various genre of exclusive games early on to try garnering some install base only to dwindle and became dudebro console later on. The thing is, if your reason to buy XB1 is that you're expecting they'll offer you different genres of exclusives than their previous console, you'd best pray hard.
Third party games will make it to PC regardless of sells from both sides because PC guys are louder than ever with petitions and port begging now which is a good thing. Why buy any console these days if you have a powerful PC and can afford to upgrade every 1 or 2 years. As someone waiting to get an X1 in September, It comes down to affordability. A 400 dollar PC is no where near the requirements to run the Witcher at its highest res and that 400 is for 3 to 4 years depending on generation length as opposed to PC with graphic cards releasing every few months. If you see your friend running a game on the latest graphics card believe me you will look for the extra cash to get it and that's an expensive habit for me. An X1 has all your entertainment a PC can give you and games specifically tailored to use the most of the hardware
I'm still getting one. It has games coming that I do not plan to miss out on.
It reminds me of Dreamcast..good start, and then rapidly slowing down in sales..constantly price cut
How dumb!!!!! Sony don't sell windows!!!! Everyone knows games on MS consoles will at some point go to PC, help sell pc the MS sells more windows.... Stop making it sound like X1 is done, same thing happen to 360 games... If this did not happen poor pc gamers would not have crap to play".....
That's why MS released every Halo/Gears/Forza/Fable on PC... Oh wait. There are a lot of 360 only games never released on PC. Even the XBLA ones.
Just give X1 time, let all the 360's gamers upgrade to X1 n X1 will take off in sells, we all know this I can't get over how bad some wants X1 to fail, it would not be good for gamers if it did!!' True gamers like myself, own both systems anyways.... Even the Wii U
This idea that you must be multiconsole to be a true gamer is some rich boy bulls*** and a lie. A true gamer is nothing but a made up word for people that think they are special when they are not. I spend over 1k a year on games and have zero interest in a WiiU and now that 3 major exclusives from the X1 are moving over to Pc, I'm seeing very little reason to pick one up. So why should someone go out and buy 2 consoles that are less appealing if they already have a console that does what the others do, and better in some cases?
Buying another console, when you have one that already meets your expectations, is not a very prudent thing to do. I mostly game on my PS4. However I do spend a good bit of time in both my 3DS and good ol' PS3. I also agree that applying labels on oneself is more or less pointless, and would like to add that they likely don't know themselves, if they feel the need to label everyone and everything so cut and dry/black and white. I play on the platforms I do because they are what I want. Not out of loyalty to some company. It's that simple.
