Geekbomb: Top 10 Games of The (Console) Generation

The past generation of consoles have now dissipated into the wilderness, only to be found by Escape Dead Island and Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel later in the year, so to commemorate our fallen brethren (PS3/Xbox 360), I’ve decided to compile my games of the generation. Needless to say that these ten games took an unbelievable amount of time for me to pick, but these are the games that defined me as a gamer, and spoiler alert - all of them are single-player based games. If you know me at all, you’d know that I’m quite the fan of a single-player adventure and I don’t often fall into the cracks of multiplayer, so while I will give an honorable mention to Halo 3, the single-player experience that these games gave me is what I’ll hold with me for years (and hopefully many years) to come. (Alan Wake, Culture, Industry, PC, PS3, The Last Of Us, The Walking Dead - Season 1, Uncharted 2: Among Thieves, Wii, Xbox 360)

What do you mean by "(console)" generation. There are generations only on consoles, PC has no generations. How would you define last PC gen and current PC generation???

What do you mean by 'PC'?

Technically any personal computing device can be considered a PC.

...now you see how annoying it can be to have your point needlessly derailed by semantics?

Don't pretend being stupid, you know exactly what I mean

We are on a gaming site and the conversation is about gaming machines, don't pretend that you didn't understand the point

the only I can say TLOU is an experience so superior it can't be found in any other place including PC.

So you have 1, maybe 2 exclusives on consoles that will never come to PC, that PC players are ACTUALLY jealous of. Metal Gear Solid 5 is the only other one I can think of, and is arguably the sole reason I have my PS4.

While we PC crowd have the biggest games in the world (such as League of Legends, Star Craft, Counter Strike etc), played by the most people, watched online by the most people, played for to win money, and have more users than the consoles combined.

Sorry but if you're going to be elitist over one game, be prepared to be smashed into the ground by PC users.

lol! dude so Lol, starcraft and CS are unique/superior experiences ?, sorry dude but you lost me there.

and I'm not a e-sport gamer, is not for me to be hours and hours on a daily basis playing a game.

And tourneys that pays thousands and thousands of dollars with thousands of viewers are on consoles too.

PS3 SSFIV, BlazBlue,
xbone KI
Nintendo SSMB

and also I'm a PC user/gamer too ;)

mgs4, skyrim, god of war 3, Heavy rain, bioshock, etc. All missing from the list. I know mgs4 came out pretty early in the console generation so its pretty easy to forget, but seriously as weird as this is to say i think mgs4 is the most underrated game of last gen. Its always getting snubbed in these kind of list.

While these games all are amazing but where is red dead redemption , gears of war , god of war 3 , heavy rain , bisohock , mass effect , dragon age , honestly last gen had too many beautiful games , 10 games just arent enough :)

The title should read Sony's generation of console gaming, the dude even admits being a fanBOY.
