Halo: The Master Chief Collection Not Coming To PC

PC gamers won't be getting Halo: The Master Chief Collection. Microsoft confirmed today that the bundle of HD remakes will be an Xbox One exclusive.

Hope for a PC version was supplied by Amazon Spain, who listed the Master Chief Collection for that platform. Here's the screen-grab, via AttackoftheFanboy:

ok ok this is getting ridiculous now, this is the third "error" Microsoft has redacted in the last two weeks alone. they need to start confirming before releasing info

this isn't microsoft this is amazons fault they been doing this to multiple games even announcing fallout 4.

Obviously the biggest Xbox system seller won't launch in any other platform

TomShoe1141d ago

Not surprising in the least. Why make you pay only $60 when they can get you to shell out $520? You'll have to buy an XBO + MCC + XBL.

Smart people already have those things.

I don't think that The Master Chief Collection will be coming to PC, but.....I do believe that Halo:CE, Halo 2 and Halo 3 will be coming to Steam.

Here are some reasons I think these games will come to Steam, other than all of the recent leaks:

- Phil Spencer has mentioned on two separate occasions that he would like to work closer with Steam, and that he felt that Steam was a great platform to release Win32 games.

- Microsoft Game Studios has released numerous games on Steam to date, including the recent release of Halo: Spartan Assault

- Steam has created three mysterious 'official' Steam Groups for Halo: CE, Halo 2 and Halo 3. They are currently invite only, and cannot be accessed to view any information at this time.

- Halo: CE and Halo 2 have already been available on PC in the past. The Xbox 360's architecture is close enough to the PC that it probably wouldn't take too much effort to port Halo 3.

Microsoft did not list anything..it was Amazon's error.

MCTJim1141d ago

They said this during their panel discussion last week. But all the screaming, spinning, manipulating and carrying on from a certain segment actually forced a sold "NO" from Microsoft. Its now put to rest.

TFJWM1141d ago

Sadly a "NO" from Microsoft still has to be taken with a grain of salt these days

Coming from this guy it's very hard to take anything seriously.

Although I think there is a slight chance it may come given the evidence from impressions from someone from giantbomb at the time of the reveal it will just take a long while if it does happen because MS need to push XB1 sales obviously.

As much as i support Xbox, i say give it a year and it'll arrive on PC... and yes. I've seen the article.

Edit - Lots of Disagrees but no claims to back them up.

Spinal1141d ago

I thought Dead Rising 3 was exclusive to xbox one also. Well.... That's coming to PC also.

98xpresent1141d ago

That's 3rd party. This first party

IHassounah1141d ago

Well to be fair , Capcom is in a dangerous situation and DR3 didn't give it a lot of money so they did bring out the PC version. That goes for Ryse too.

marlinfan101141d ago

People are disagreeing because your comments ridiculous. Despite the article clearly sayng its not coming to pc you still say give it a year then you want people to give you a reason for disagreeing. I think the reasons pretty obvious

GDDR6_20141141d ago

What article? It's a tweet saying the amazon listing is an error

marlinfan101141d ago

I was referring to this

"PC gamers won't be getting Halo: The Master Chief Collection. Microsoft confirmed today that the bundle of HD remakes will be an Xbox One exclusive.

You probably said the same thing about Halo 3 and 4. Quit dreaming.
