You Need to Play Capcom’s Resident Evil Remake

Christopher Buffa (Prima Games): Yesterday’s surprise announcement that Capcom will release the formerly GameCube and Wii exclusive Resident Evil reboot to newer consoles and PC was met with frenzied fist pumping from diehard fans. The gorgeous reimaging of the PlayStation classic is undoubtedly one of our top five all-time GameCube hits, standing tall among the likes of Super Smash Bros. Melee, F-Zero GX and The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker. Not only did it retain the many elements that made its counterpart genre defining (those giant spiders are eight hairy legs of nope), but it also incorporated several new elements that made it feel somewhat fresh, beyond the jaw-dropping visuals.

If it's a $20-30 Downloadable title like RE4 and RE:Code Veronica HD were, then I will.

Not going to pay full price for a Re-Remake. I've beat it far too many times on ps1. But, this game will be great for the people that were too young to enjoy Resident Evil when it actually was capable of scaring the S*** out of you.

I agree with you on the pricing, but I just want to say that the experience is pretty different for both games. It's not because of the graphic upgrade btw.

I agree, this was good old resident evil.

No karate chops.
Scary atmosphere.
Normal looking chris redfield.
Not bimbo Jill Valentine.
Decent plot.

Man i really miss those days, to the very least they should make an old school RE once in a while.

It isn't a re-remake

Its a remaster of a remake!

.... just saying >_>

Necessary? Is it necessary for me to drink my own urine? No, but I do it anyway because it's sterile and I like the taste.

Thanks for the insight Patches! ;D

I wrote that i like the taste of your urine as well, thinking it'd be funny. But then i realized that it doesn't go well with the pic of my little boy in my profile*facepalm*

Ot: no, i don't need to play it, i don't want to play it and i shall not play it.

lifesanrpg1507d ago

I would've chuckled, which now that I think about it probably makes me sound like a creeper

zalanis1507d ago

i already stated before how this is a joke. now we going to remaste games from two generations ago. having said that wtf is up with them GAMECUBE graphics. they look better then most games today. and who the hell gave "lifesanrpg" a agree on the urine..

VsAssassin1507d ago

I believe Capcom was able to go all out with the graphics because of the static background, which saved them resources and disc space.

Games these days sport changeable perspective which requires rendering of most assets from almost every angle.

hazelamy1507d ago

i've got the Gamecube version and a Wii, i'm sorted. ^_^

WitWolfy1507d ago

It's not a remake its a remastered edition of an existing title!!

DFogz1507d ago

Considering how it'll have new enemy types, new areas, and new characters (with new story) I'd say it's closer to a remake than just an HD remaster

WitWolfy1507d ago (Edited 1507d ago )

Remake by definition means built from the ground up. Meaning new engine, new voice actors, similar script and better graphics to name a few.

Might as well call the E.T re-releases a"remake" as well seeing they changed the guns to walkie talkies.
