Why Capcom's latest Resident Evil port may be the most important one of all

Rely on Horror: Today Capcom producers Tatsuya Kitabayashi and Yoshiaki Hirabyashi announced that the Nintendo exclusive Resident Evil remake (often called REmake by fans) is making its way to last and current-gen consoles and PC. This news has brought both a roar of applause and disappointment from fans of the series, the latter seeing the announcement as yet another rehash, remake, "cash grab", or "pointless" port. But the release of REmake on new platforms outside of former Nintendo exclusivity is nothing we should be criticizing; this announcement means that Capcom is listening. They're giving fans what they want whether or not those fans realize it.

True, if lots of people buy this then maybe Capcom will realize that we fans of the old Horror RE style actually prefer this kinda games more. Then they just could make more later and not Michael Bay-style action games.

Maybe we get after this remaster/remake of 2, 3 and C:V, or then RE7 but in this old style, survival horror. I will buy it definitely, as it will be nice to visit that place again after years :). Also they're giving us fans kind of what we have been asking for, just not with name RE7.

maybe they will go back to the roots after seeing how it is received by the puplic and fans. heres hope it goes well.

I'm with you-- this is a chance to once again play and support a really amazing game, and at the same time show Capcom that RE7, if done in the style of 1,2, and 3, will make them money AND make fans really happy.

I still have REmake and Zero, but I'm pumped to play this in 16x9 with a higher resolution on my current TV. I'm buying the HD REmaster on day one.

My thoughts exactly is seems like an experiment. They want to test the market.

Feriku1113d ago

Yeah, this might be Capcom's way of saying, "You guys who are always saying you want the old style back? Prove it."

hopefully if this does really well, we get an RE2 remake in the same style.

Imagine if they did a 1080p60fps remaster for resi 4 and let you you move and shoot. This would make all the dollars

Enough of Resident Evil 4.

Ghostdogg1113d ago

Hopefully Capcom keeps their word and makes due with bringing resident evil back to its survival horror roots but something tells me they won't

The only thing they need to change, is the INTRO! Put the original killer dog version from ps1 RE1, that cast introduce was so damn cool too with actors lol.
