"For us, the bottleneck is the computational power when doing real time," says Dynamixyz CEO Gaspard Breton.
Realistic Facial Capture... Meh
why dont they just use what many games have done, killzone SF,infamous SS,ryse etc have pretty much nailed it.
Look what Naughty Dog did with hand-crafted facial animations.
I think that when people aren't good enough seems to blame others or other things instead of admit even to themselves that there not as good as they think they were.
"Look what Naughty Dog did with hand-crafted facial animations." Which is currently running at 1080p and 60 fps. Also, that trailer was basically done by 1 person...
What about what koji pro is doing with mgs5?
Naughty Dog disagrees. They touted a while back that their facial capture would set the bar and the game would run at 60fps.
Developer skill is always important their are a lot of times when certain programmers run inefficient code and have unpotimized code everything gets clogged up and bottlenecks. Some people can achieve unprecedented results with 8gigs of ram kind of like what ND did with 256mb on PS3. There are some Amazing Programmers working at ND maybe even godly. How many programmers are out there who can claim they can do Character Modeling/sculpting in Zbrush, 3D animation in Maya, Texture, Rig including make sexy concept art aswell as write efficient code not many that's for sure a lot of them are artistically challenged and will make it clear to you the moment you ask them. Edit: Naughty Dog is so deadly they even have their own employees visiting other game studios and giving them tips. Judd Simantov lead programmer(TLOU) and another ND employee also opened up their own Game Development School focusing on Character Modeling and concept art.
i see what he mean while looking at the video. the model isnt responding realistic and fast enough. looks good tho. its har to get a real effect on face animation. the char face always look stiff and suffers from to much botox
Proof PS4 and X1 isn't next gen :-D
No, it's merely proof that a no-name developer has no talent.
RockStar did it with LA Noire on PS3 and 360 so there is no excuse why it couldn't be done on the next gen consoles.
It's ok, it wasn't in the last gen, gen before, etc (it will be in the next systems). Regardless we have been treated every gen to more, and more lifelike games (this gen will be no exception). By the way Ryse says hello (beautifully rendered I might add)
Yes it was in last gen. LA Noire https://www.youtube.com/wat...
They forgot to mention how it's directly tied to how much effort the developer wants to put into it. Case in point Uncharted 4.
Yep. Literally nothing a fixed piece of hardware can't achieve if devs just take enough time.... NOTHING.
The Last of Us Remastered says hello
Even if it was possible I'm sure most devs. Wouldn't use it they'd probably use the power elsewhere. it probably would be considered a waste when the facial tech we have is pretty good.
Another developer who lacks the top shelf skills blaming on the hardware, pretty pathetic.
