No one was surprised when Ubisoft announced a new Assassin's Creed game today for PS3 and Xbox 360. What is shocking, though, is that this last-gen game actually looks better than the new-gen Assassin's Creed Unity in some ways.
The lighting in this looks horrible compared to Unity. Rouge looks so incredibly baked compared to the dynamic lighting in Unity. Lighting is where you get most of your graphics fidelity now-a-days anyways. Whoever thinks Rouge will look better is clearly delusional without even getting into the technical sides of things.
Maybe you should have read the article instead of just going by the title as it is misleading. The 4 reasons have nothing to do with visuals, they are talking about features; the main character, the naval combat, the diverse cities, the story connections to AC3 and AC4.
But he's not talking about Rogue, that was yesterday's reveal. He's clearly talking about today's Assassin's creed game reveal, Assassin's creed: Rouge, in which you play as a transvestite Assassin hunting down Templars in 1970's New York to a hip Lou Reed soundtrack. I agree the graphics don't look quite as good but I like the setting. Okay, I have to go now to catch the next Assassin's creed game reveal, then it's just time to grab a bite to eat before I see what Assassin's creed game they're revealing next.
@Sketchy_Galore LOL That assassin gives new meaning to the term "hidden blade".
I dont think we can judge the graphics seeing as there hasnt been any gameplay for it yet. The trailer was just CG as far as we know.
is any of those coming to other platforms besides playstation and xbox?
I agree, i think Rogue looks/sounds better than Unity, i don't like Unity's French Revolution setting and i hate how there is 4 different main assassins.
There is only one main Assassin in Unity, and that is Arno. Everyone who plays in co-op will look like him on their screen but their co-op buddies will look like a different Assassin. Like what they did with Watch Dogs.
Oh, my bad.
I agree maybe the concept of the game is more interesting but as far as graphics an game play mechanic's it will be far more superior on unity..
Author's got good reasons but its stupid I had to click four separate pages to see why. Anyways, Rouge is obviously for folks who want AC on the ocean experience and Unity for folks who want the old good classic ground AC experience. My only gripe with these games is that Rouge aint available for PS4/X1.
This article made me literally laugh out loud PURE CLICKBAIT. Don't waste your time guys, don't give them the views, it's not worth it, really.
It's rogue not rouge lol.
One of the most misspelled words in gaming, along with "guerrilla."
I just wish this could be a multiplat game like black flag I would buy unity and this for ps4
Knowing the way games are now I reckon that there will be a ps4 version not too far in to the future. Well I hope because in theory this one sounds better on paper.
And I have one reason as to why Unity will be the better game; lead studio on Unity is Ubi Montreal, lead studio on Rogue is Ubi Sofia. While they have collaborated on Black Flag, Ubisoft Sofia's previous efforts simply aren't nearly as good as what usually comes out of Ubisoft Montreal.
True. Plus Unity seems like it's going back to the roots of Assassin's Creed whereas Rogue is just continuing on the path of AC4. Especially with the whole protagonist who fights for both sides throughout the game thing and naval combat.
i liked the arctic impressions from the trailer and hope we get to sail in that area including cracked ice on the surface and so on. But overall i think both can be great games and if rogue locks as good as bf does on ps3 i see no reason to not go back on my ps3 to play this one.
I personally have a place for each AC game this season. And to think I've previously had issues buying one! I have my nextgen systems all in the living room, but I also get glare occasionally, enough that I sometime prefer resorting to my cave - where currently only my PS3 sits. So I have a room (designated) for either game!
After one trailer someone already decided its better? What's wrong with gamers these days?
lol don't be surprise if AC ROGUE gets better scores than Unity, if AC Rogue has all the elements from Black Flag and added improvements it will certainly will have better scores. I wish this was coming to the PS4.
Just remove naval combat and I fully agree with you.
Can't wait to see if these reasons hold water when am playing both games . Till then they both look great.
I don't know how naval combat is an advantage. I hated the naval combat because it was so repetitive and boring. I like doing stealth missions ON LAND and fighting people ON LAND. Rogue can have its ships. I'm glad Unity won't have them.
The better game will be the less repetitive one. That's my big problem with AC.
This is stupid. That was a CGI trailer. See the in game image from here: http://nowgamer.net-genie.c... http://nowgamer.net-genie.c... And compare it to this (ACU): http://www.centrumher.eu/wp... And this(Yeah there are window assassinations now): http://www.centrumher.eu/wp...
