It seems Ubisoft just can't keep a secret these days. The long rumored Assassin's Creed Comitt aka Rogue has now been revealed more or less. It seems it will carry over the pirate theme but will made to fill in the gap for last-gen gamers.
The guy with the gun reminds me of The Order: 1886.
Is it me, or are there like 4 billion Assasin's Creed games? I cant keep track of them.
You can't count to 9?
They just split up the series at this point for next-gen / last-gen. So that the next-gen engine doesn't get held back by last-gen. It's a very interesting idea actually. More series should do it. I think Bungie's Destiny is gonna have to think about this actually, cuz ontop of people not being that impressed with some of the Destiny experience already - one of my main gripes is that it's not next-gen looking enough and the aliasing is definitely worse than it should be for a 1080p x 30fps PS4 game. I'm just about positive that it's because it's cross-gen that the next-gen engine isn't as great as it could be. Unity looks extremely nice though, that's also partly because Ubisoft just has super talented folks. I'd like to see this happen more though.
yeah, 9 games in my opinion is waaaaay too many for a series. 9?!?! stagnation much?
Both main characters for AC UNITY and AC ROGUE seem generic! Aiden Pierce was also generic! The only promising character is the villain of Far cry 4.
How can Arno seem generic when we have yet to play him. Stahp.
At first sight it seems generic.Just a feeling... I may be wrong but Ubisoft has proven that their strength is not to create great fictional characters. There are always exceptions(like Ezio)...
So what characters are generic just because they're white and male? I've always been a believer that personality is what makes people different but I suppose in this modern gender and skin-colour obsessed world characters are all considered the same unless their genitals and skin colour differ from game to game. How about you wait and see the character's personality before passing judgement? I shouldn't have to remind you that there was a time not too long ago in video games where protagonists didn't even speak at all, and games can be great even with a silent protagonist so long as antagonists and allies are deep.
It's just a opinion. It wasn't just because it was white and male.It was because of the track record of Ubisoft when they create these type of characters. Most of the times they are not memorable. For example, when I first saw Joel and Ellie I knew they would be good characters, not only for the appearances but also for the track record of Naughty dog. Of course I can be wrong... And you're right gender does not matter .For example I didn't find Aveline very interesting.
PC was tagged in this post. Is it coming to PC? If so, I'll be intrigued to see how it performs, given that it has been built for last gen systems.
It seems that PC players have the most reason to be happy if this is true, and AC: R will be released also on Pc:)
I wouldn't be so sure about that, based on ACIV for PC. I got it for free through an ibuypower promotion. Yikes!
@-bienio- I think it is pretty likely that AC Rogue will be coming to PC. The PC has got all of the Assassin's Creed games, including AC Liberation HD which was only PC, PS3 and 360. @WeAreLegion Why? AC4 looks amazing on PC. It's difficult to achieve 60fps, it's true, but I simply cap the framerate at 30fps and enjoy a better looking version of the game than I would get on my PS4.
I don't know of any major AC games which haven't been released on PC. I'll be very surprised if it doesn't release on PC.
I know it's a leak and not yet presented properly , but wow it's the first time i've been completely underwhelmed by an AC reveal . Regardless , i wasnt planning on getting any AC game anymore on ps3/360 . It was great back then , but i wont compromise and go back "down" on this franchise . And i will no fund either any probable and upcoming "hd remaster" for ps4/xb1 of this title . You know it will happens after they even ported the vita game .
I don't want it at launch but hopefully it is on PC, the only way I would buy this for my PS3 is if it was very highly acclaimed. Perhaps if it is pretty good red box will have it.
Wish they made the Templars more knight esq like from assassins creed 1
Well they explain he was once an Assassin, hence the hood, robes and hidden blade, but wouldve been cool to see the Templars get a uniform of their own.
Every single Assassins Creed game since Brotherhood has been "leaked" in advance. Every single one.
already? why so many ACs Ubi? take a breath, no?
It's the same freaking game with a different setting!! It's like an expansion for previous games, not a new game. I won't be buying any AC games at launch. They need a 3 year break from these games in my opinion, it's just a blatant cash grab.
No, that's not true. There are just as many changes and advancements in the AC series as there are in the majority of other game series. What you said could just as easily apply to Halo or Uncharted or any other popular franchise if you wanted to be cynical enough.
First, Ubisoft had already released the official trailer, at least on their facebook page not too long ago. Second, 2 AC titles in one year... This is effing bull$hit it cannot get any clearer than this; Cash grab. Bad game, bad quality, repetitive game-play, shallow story. I am not sure if Ubisoft is becoming worse than EA or Activision now.
It seems like you cant please everyone. IF they had cross-gen Unity, people would get pissed that its going to get held back by last gen. So what do they do? Create two seperate titles, appeasing both old gen and new gen owners without any hold backs. People say its the same, but this is the first time we play as a Templar, and again, new location, new setting, new time period, new characters, new protagonist, new story. People wanted something different, Ubisoft is giving something different. People act like this is going to be commonplace, two AC games each year. But this is simply to ease the franchise crossing over from old gen to new gen. PS360 isnt going to last very long, and soon it'll only be new gen + PCs. Fans, both old and new gen owners dont want to be alienated, Ubisoft is giving two games to appease both parties. And no way is Ubisoft even remotely close to Ea or Activision. Compare the ambition, the creativity, the fact that each Ubisoft game actually cares about story and character, where the latter two dont.
i'll wait for the remastered next gen version in the spring
I cant understand why people are complaining about ubisoft making so many assassins creed games...is there a gun to your head forcing you to buy the game? lol just dont get it if a company hurt your feelings trying to cash in on the game franchise that people keep buying.
Baffles me so. I understand the need to hate AC because thats the cool thing to do now apparently, but if you really want them to stop making it, stop buying it. I love the series, however if they were to take a break, i would not be upset in the slightest.
yea if they stopped ac and took a break i wouldnt mind maybe they can work on another splinter cell or a new franchise but i dont expect them to stop making a game that is clearly making them money every year. i just like with every installment they have done since revelations which was horrible the series has improved in certain areas
I loved Revelations. AC3 was very good, i think people confuse disappointment with shit, however. All the games have been quality titles which makes me wonder if theyre so good, and people keep buying them, why stop making them?
see the thing is everybody likes different shit like i thing revelations was a waste n didnt reveal anything about the story but you loved it and thats ok. i loved ac3 thought it was the best since ac1 but ppl complain about a company trying to do what a real business does...make money. a company that can make quality product and make money at the same time will never stop what they are doing until they come up with the next best thing in this case would be a new franchise but if it aint broke dont fix it.
