Halo 2. Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas. World of Warcraft. The GamesBeat staff lets their thoughts burn for one of the best years ever for video games.
What a year!
I remember hearing a lot about Star Ocean at the time, but I never got around to playing it. :(
I had the same issue with Tales of Symphonia.
I was in college and playing a ton of games in 2004, but it never sank in just how many influential titles hit that year. No wonder I didn't have time to study.
Ah, 2004. Also known as the year I discovered WoW and destroyed my social life.
Where's Half-Life 2? <scratches head>
2004 was a better year than I think a lot of gamers remember.
Great year for gaming. Halo 2 blew me away with its sound visuals and story. GTA was fun playing a gangsta lol
Just looked up some more memorable games... Enter The Matrix - Bought by everyone, Panned by everyone. The Suffering - Scariest game I have ever Played. Half-Life 2 - Why wasn't this included on the list? Def Jam: Fight for NY - Fun entertaining Fighting/Wrestling game. Burnout 3 - Haha, my entry back into the racing genre. Star Wars Battlefront - To this day very relevant. Tony Hawk: U2 - The Jackass of TH's. Downfall of series? Killzone - So much grey! Prince of Persia: Warrior Within - Darker then original, sexy first boss.
I expected Half-Life 2 to be one of the most obvious choices for inclusion, and yet it's missing?! That and 'Far Cry' too.
Half-Life 2 is where again? And as much as I love SH4, its a pretty mediocre game.
