Arc System Works announced that the home console version of its upcoming fighting game Guilty Gear Xrd -SIGN- will be playable for the first time in an “Experience Meeting” in Osaka on August 9th.
Yup between this , blazblue chronophantasma , and P4 arena Ultimax , i wont need more fighting games in fall 2014-2015
Very interested in this game, although I'm a bit worried about how many fighters will be in it, and if they'll be selling extra fighters as DLC...
^ I kno what you mean. I would hate for all the original cast to suddenly be DLC.
If you're into those games then you should try an get a copy of the recently released Under Night In-Birth Exe:Late Yeah, the name tripped me out too.
I can't help but notice that you don't have the recently released under night in birth: exe late on your list. Don't sleep on it. I didn't realize how much the easy mode, wide open frame cancels in killer instinct had ruined my timing. Check it out.
i can't play every 2d fighting games under the sun , i have to focus on essential titles , and those are the essentials for me
I do love a great 2d fighter (I still play my neo-geo)! Guilty Gear is sick wit it!
Can't wait either but I'm not paying 60 dollars for it. Especially knowing that there's a good chance they plan to add the other characters as dlc. I'd pay 30 bucks for this.
Wow that does look good. O.O Love the art style.
Oh man that looks awesome. I've never played a Guilty Gear game so does it have a story mode or something ? I'm considering getting this for my PS4.
Funny you ask, because Guilty Gear was the originator of purposeful story mode in fighting games. BlazBlue done by the same team have improved on the formula so I'd be expecting pretty great mode in Xrd.
Damn that look good. I gotta get this!
Looks like my Baiken can't make it to the final list T_T Oh well, still getting it day 1 and have fun with old and new characters ^^
Looks great, definitely on my to-purchase radar now.
Arc System Works is the best fighting game developers on the planet right now. This is Day 1 for me.
They're the only ones who realize you don't have to destroy the depth and skill of your game to get new players involved.
I have to agree with ya...day one for me as well! Huge fan of Guilty Gear...can't wait!
Yeah agreed. Guilty Gear, BlazBlue, and P4 Arena are awesome for both hardcore and beginners. And not just gameplay but three of them also have great story and music too. ArcSys definitely nail it. Anyway, i missed SNK. What happen to them? We never hear any news from them this past two years. It's like they dissappear to the bottom of the earth. I need new KoF, Garou, and Samurai Shodown...
Never played but am interested, is this a good starting point? Mostly interested in the story and I don't want to be lost, is this new user friendly basically?
Well, Xrd is a 5th game in the main series (cmiiw). So if you don't want to be lost with the story, i'll suggest you should read Guilty Gear wikia before getting Xrd, just to knew the basic of Guilty Gear world (what is Gear, the Holy War, relationship between characters, etc). http://guilty-gear.wikia.co... Or, you can get Guilty Gear (PS1 classic) and Guilty Gear XX on PSN to warm you up before Xrd. For gameplay, just like previous Guilty Gear, i think Xrd will be friendly for beginners. But the best way to describe it is "Easy to play, Hard to master". Every playable characters has their own unique point, so you need to try all of them to find who's fit with your style.
Absolutely gorgeous!!! Might as well be the best looking fighting game yet!!!
