Square Enix: Give Us New Games

Armed Gamer: Whenever I have this conversation with my roommates or even coworkers I always seem like a crazy person when I say, “Give Final Fantasy a break and give some new games a chance.” Square has obviously come from nothing with the franchise, but you can only get so far with that. I just wish Square Enix would experiment more with new IPs. We will probably get KH3 and FF15 late 2015. That is fine with me. I can wait. Even if KH3 and FF15 are some of the best games I will ever play, I will still not be impressed by Square Enix because I still feel as though they are milking the hype for these games just so people will buy whatever they are peddling out in the meantime. (Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII, PC, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One)

Square Enix, GIVE ME THE LAST REMNANT 2 OR I WILL START A FLAMETHROWER SPREE ON YOUR HQ, and i mean this in the politest way possible.

That game was nothing special, I would much prefer a revival of an older JRPG or something new.

I actually liked it for the most part, but it had terrible problems that kept me from finishing it. If they fixed them in the sequel, it would be an awesome game.

STOP buying their repeat games and they will lose a ton of money and be forced to make the games we want.

Actually, just make the games we want. Make FF15 what we want to play.
It's actually sad that so many young ppl were introduced last Gen to FF w 13. Here's to hoping that many try 14 or some of the older games.

The sad thing is a lot of those people who's first FF game is XIII think it's a great game, bizarrely enough. I suppose if you never ate great cooking, you'd think Fast food is the best there is.
Muzikguy  +   142d ago
This is so true. And @iamtehpwn is right. These new people have no idea about how good some of the older games were so they think 13 is good. It's sad really. That's the "new" audience Squeenix was aiming for. Little do they realize that audience will drop you like a bad habit in the blink of an eye. They need to get back to their roots, the roots of Squaresoft. I want to see turn based games again. I want to see amazing graphics and a free roam map. I want to see a return of vehicles and airships, chocobos, an intriguing story, some level grinding (like the materia system in 7), minigames, a great musical score, 100 hours of playtime.... Is that so much to ask?!

I wonder if Square Enix will try to slip Lightning DLC into KH3 and FFXV as fan service?
Godmars290  +   142d ago
"If"?

Really, you consider that to be an "if"?

KH3 is a certainty, because, KH3.

Be its because of things like FF14, where the production costs and resources of at least two games went, that Square is only looking at remakes. Exploiting nostalgia.

Actually, give us games like the old games! So old style new games.... I want a game that lives 20 years on as a classic, like chrono trigger. Or something as hard hitting as aerith being killed... heck even just an open world map and cids highwind!

Ff13 was good... it just lacked true RPG depth, stunning world with no real character beyond its aesthetic. How great would it have been to reach pulse, feeling alienated by it and amazed, only to eventually, finally find human life with new characters, story etc!
LAWSON72  +   142d ago
I like FF13 and I think instead of Pulse being empty with civilization they missed out on so much potential. IMO the game would have been 10x better if instead of an empty ruin in Oerba it was at least a small tribe that introduced a small hub and actual side plots.

Before I got to Oerba, I read that I would find side quests in Pulse. I really expected to find a real village in Oerba, where villagers would give me those side quests. Imagine my disappointment when I didn't see a single person there.

FFXV NEEDS to live up to the hype. If it turns into another dud it WILL be the nail in the coffin for the series.

KHIII I'm pretty sure will be a gem.
