Licence to thrill: how Nintendo could go beyond the game

A not so long time ago in a galaxy not so far away, a beloved videogame company known as Nintendo decided - in the wake of commercial unrest - it would expand its rich collection of character intellectual property licences beyond the realms of videogames to more merchandise, digital fields and other areas never licensed before. Many gamers across the land rejoiced at the news, for it promised an intriguing future for a company with strong traditional values and the opportunity to see our favourite characters in exciting new places. (3DS, Nintendo, Nintendo DS, Wii, Wii U)

This is all well and good, just keep Nintendo games off of cell phones and everything will be alright.

I go back on occasion to watch the SSB animated shorts because they're so good, I'd love to see Nintendo dip their toes into an anime series. It would also maybe even help them find voice actors and develop story concepts for their games in the future without some of the growing pains (Metroid Other M)
