Obludia Review | NearlyEnoughDice

Jessica writes:

"For a home-made game, Obludia is a lovely and addictive game although one may argue that the game is too short. As I have a deep love for cartoonish graphic styles in games, I absolute love the visuals in Obludia. The audio design only adds more goodness to the entire game. While Obludia may not be for every kind of player, it is one of those indie gems that you may want to pick up during a sale."

Denkiphile: Obludia Review

Dustin from Denkiphile: "FobTi Interactive’s recent title, Obludia, attempts to deliver a top-down, classic arena action game, that revolves around the simple objective to defeat hordes of enemies with a variation of weapons, spells and companions. I’ve always had a love for titles like Obludia, as a child, I played arcade action games religiously and this title definitely reminded me of looking for flash games on my dated computer. My expectations may have been set a little to high, Obudia has a lot going for it, the overall game mechanics function quite well and provide mindless entertainment, but certain functions took away from an otherwise decent indie game."

Your Van Helsing looking character has to kill things because of… uhh, there is no plot… because he’s in a dungeon and that’s what you do in those places.

Your enemies range from cute ickle spiders to what looks like Orko from He-Man

Writes Karlos Morale

Obludia vs. The Binding of Isaac

Drydwen from 3rd-strike writes:

"A game developer once told me that you cannot design a game without being inspired by other similar games and this truly shows in this comparison. Obludia clearly shows that the basic concept of the game is similar to The Binding of Isaac, as it is to many other games, however I do not feel like it is an exact clone of Edmund McMillen’s game."
