Four frustrating things about open world games

GearNuke: "We commend them on their diligence, seeing as how the longer it takes to develop an open world game; it is proportional to how long it takes us to complete that open world game too.

However, there are times when you are just playing the game just for the sake of killing time and not receiving an ounce of entertainment from it. "

If they didnt have those, it'd be boring. More content is better.

Lol the collectibles in Ass-creed one were insane. Never bothered to collect the damn flags. It wasn't even rewarding in any way.

The problem with too many side missions is the repetition. That was my major ptoblem with Watch Doge. And just thinking about going trough all of that again made me never beat the game a second time.

why would you bother with collectables on a second play through?

My number one complaint about open world games is not being able to go into buildings or places. To me if I can't go inside a building it just more terrain. I want an open world not just a bigger map.

True 'dat.

Would be great to have a game on a smaller scale map, but with every buildings interiors being accessible.

I'll be really impressed to see that in Assassin's Creed Unity. Hopefully, I wont be disappointed.

Collectibles piss me off. Far too many and it becomes a method to fill the world with something.

Something that I feel is missing is the whole "bigger is better" ideology. Take GTA or Assassin's Creed. They have gigantic maps but most of the great expanse is filled with nothing. I would rather have a smaller map but with the possibility of going into buildings. At the moment it is just decoration and nothing meaningful

My main issue with some open world games are with the economy system. Once you get to a certain point late in the game, your money becomes almost useless because you run out of useful things to buy. I had this problem with Far Cry 3, Watch Dogs, Assassins Creed BlackFlag and Borderlands 2. But, open world games are actually my favorite type of games to play.
