Tomorrow, The Last of Us: Remastered makes it PlayStation 4 debut. The game is backed by some significant upgrades, and warrants a purchase by PS4 owners.
Probably because it isn't a reboot.
I was just gonna type that. Lol can someone really confuse remaster with reboot.. Man this has got to be the dumbest headline I've read in a while. I can't wait to replay this on ps4 tonight. I never got any of dlc. And I gave my ps3 copy to my brother. I been missing this game ever sense.
I am really looking forward to playing this game for the first time. My son keeps saying that I am going to love it. He likes more than Drakes Uncharted (I loved those games). I will find out soon enough...
How do you get a disagree for stating a fact? I'll never get some people.
The last of us have a reboot in development actually. Its called "The first of the last of us"
We get it, you ppl love last of us. Enough of these articles, it's not like the game is new. @the_hitman3000, yeah that's the problem "NEW".
Lol, what's the problem? You get tons of articles anytime a new game comes out that's popular.
Does it bother you that people like the game? I don't see why it should because if you dont like the game they can't change your opinion on it.
Yeah I can see Sony milking it on the PS5. TLOU the master remaster.
We get it. You people don't like The Last of Us. Enough of these comments. It's not like the sentiment is new.
Naughty God can do no wrong, best console dev of our generation.
... except it's not a reboot...
This is not a reboot so change the title.
Wrong title, probably meant remake or remaster, is it more than either? Nope, technical upgrade with DLC for one of the greatest games ever made, just remember it's only just that, a remaster with great value.
If someone beat it on the ps3, what makes it so much better on the ps4 to drop $110.00 plus tax on two of the same game??? Yes I know it looks better, I know they added the DLC to the full game, I just don't understand why some one would drop that much money other then, mommy buying them for you, or you got deep pockets, a working man can't do it
a working man can do it. however, its upto them if they really need/want to do it. some people may like to experience it again with smoother framerate. just wanted to say that you dont have to be rich or have parents buying you things to buy a game twice.
This working man earned his money, so he doesn't need to defend his choices to you. However I will answer your question. You actually answered your own question. "Yes I know all of the added value, and upgraded visuals/performance bu..bu..bu I don't know what the value is!!" You already posted the answer to why someone would feel the desire to purchase this game.
It really isn't. It is a distraction to hide the fact Sony has a barren 2014 release slate compared to it's competition. Buzz and goodwill will keep the PS4 going through 2014 but Sony better bring something special in 2015.
Not really. I feel Sony has a great line up, plus this is icing on the cake for people. Not bad at all. 2015 should be insane.
Well be that as it may, they still have the best game on a next gen console, by far. And yes, I know, its a year old blah blah blah. Does it matter how old it is when most people HAVE NOT played it? It only sold 7 million (I believe). Meaning anywhere from 100 - 200 MILLION gamers didnt play it yet. Its that not a big enough market to cater to? Sony is well aware many people who only gamed on X360 last gen now have jumped ship, so why wouldnt they want the best game they never got to play with the best possible version available?
They may have the best story on a next gen console but i really found The Last of Us lacking in the gameplay department. I feel, having played it, that the strength of it's story and characters is what sticks with players and not the game itself. If we were to look at pure gameplay, the game did nothing special to receive the accolades it has. 100- 200 million...are you kidding me. The PS4 will NEVER sell that many units. Also, console sales are tricky. We all know the claims about RROD boosting sales(BS, MS gave a 3 year warranty and replaced units free of charge) but the real inflation is from slim and super slim models. A lot of people upgrade to these newer models. When you look at it that way you kinda see that the user base is actually a lot smaller than those life time sales. Taking that into account and the number of people interested in a TPS out of that user base then you can kinda assume The Last of Us 7 million sales(that doesn't include used game sales for those who wait to get it cheaper) probably encompassed everyone who was interested in the game. Especially with marketing like "you must play this game of the generation!" because that worked on me! I know a few people who have moved from 360 to PS4 and they are enjoying their console and will probably enjoy the Last of Us so no argument there. I think the real point I want to make though is that The Last Of Us remastered is not worth buying a PS4 for. Grab a cheap used PS3 and a used copy of the game. It'll still be the same experience.
I disagree. I love the characters and the story, but it was the gameplay that made me play it 3 times, and will probably buy the remaster. Its very intense, I love stealth, and Ive rarely felt a rush like when youre creeping around a bunch of Clickers, only to set them off and have them coming running at you. Very tense stuff. And I never said PS4 will sell 100-200 million units. I was making a point about how many console gamers there are in the world while only 7 million of them have played the game, meaning there is huge amount of gamers that havent.
author is an idiot or probably one of the newest amateurs around. i read the article just so i could give him/her the ebnefit of the doubt. sadly i found myself wasting my time. the title is wrong saying it is more than a reboot when its nothing to do with a reboot, it has also got nothing to do with the article at all. heres the bullet points of the aeticle. 95 metacritic score 60fps something about factions? is that exclusive to the remaster? dlc stating metacritic means nothing. 60fps is a good point, dlc? why shouldnt it come wit dlc? no mention about photo mode.
How be it can more than something it isn't?
Damnit! I was hoping to finish wolfenstien the new order before I picked this up. Looking like it'll have to be after I finish the last of us.
Umm it says remastered on the title
Well.... It's actually LESS than a reboot, it's a remaster. Oddworld: New 'n Tasty, that's a reboot! Or the new Ratchet & Clank for the PS4, completely remade with new engine etc. That is a reboot.... Port -> HD Version -> Remaster -> Reboot
The Last of Us Remastered is more than just a sandwich.
