EA Claims There’s “Never a Shortage of Ideas” When it Comes to Improving Annual Sports Games
I am glad they aren't running out of ideas because I know I would be :)
They wont run out of gullible idiots with too much cash then ideas that's for sure!
Here is my idea: stop making annual sports games.
add blood and gore
At least there trying.
No, they aren't. Have you played The Show?
Running out of ideas imply they actually had ideas in the first place… But I doubt they do.
Then how about you execute on those ideas?
EA heres A tip try NFL 2k5 if you can turn madden into 80% of that (nfl 2k5) I would believe you its been 2 gens already and madden still has not caught up with A franchise it killed 2 gens ago how crazy is that.
They have been trying to do that for the last 10 years. Maybe this years Madden will bring them to that 80%!?!? LOL
Hahaahahahahah, wait they're serious? they dont have "ideas" to begin with...
When will they start implementing some of these countless ideas?
I always find complaints funny...What F are they suppose to do with a football or hockey game...They are so realistic now... What else do gamers want..Seriously...They have every aspect covered..... What else do you want...If I'm wrong please give me examples...Not insults.. Give me concrete examples of changes you experts think they need.....
That's sort of the point. Why make an annual game if you can't add much to it? Just update the rosters as much as you can and wait a couple of years.
This latest version of Fifa 14 on next gen consoles is IMO great. They added a lot of graphical changes & a few gameplay ones. People will always complain, it's always gonna happen. Fifa 15 is adding even more touches like marks on the pitches, shirt grabbing, more realistic crowds. There's lots of little touches. I know it's not for everyone, but personally it's the only game I buy each year that I play right up to the new one which for me personally is what I want in a game. Could they release a patch for all these changes & kits/roster changes ? Yes of course, but it's a business & as it's the biggest selling sports game in Europe or maybe the world, why are they going to stop. If it didn't sell, they wouldn't release it each year.
Agree!!! FIFA is well done....
EA, IMO, has only really solidified 2 sports...hockey and football (soccer). Their basketball game is the furthest thing from "realistic" at this point. Madden, while improving subtly over the years, still hasn't reached the point where people feel that it translates well to the real game. Overall, EA needs to stop the yearly "features" and just give us complete games. One year they focus on offense...then defense...then a specific position. Each year that happens, one side of the ball is over-powered and the other suffers. I understand that sports gamers are difficult to please because the quest is always REALISM or SIM quality. But, when you've had 10 years without competition (like with Madden), what excuse do you have for NOT having a better product?
Yeah I can't comment on madden, I don't get on with it. But I understand fans of the other 2k game (I think that's the one) are always moaning about Madden because it has no competition. It seems they get the gameplay right for some people, then the next year ruin it for others. It's a tough one I know. I for one hated the way you just has to hold X to close down on Fifa. You just sat holding a button, then they changed it to tactical defending, meaning it's a lot harder, yet others hate it. My favorite US sport is Ice Hockey & I'm so looking forward to the new NHL from EA. Fifa & NHL are my yearly sports games that keep me playing till the next installments, I'm a sucker for sports games, & I enjoy them both.
"Never a shortage of sequels" you mean.
oh I know one you never thought of EA. VR support.
"How can we get these games to print money FASTER?"
The NHL series in my opinion has always been amazing.the other sports not so much anymore.
If there's so many new ideas why are they basically the same every year? The only major change was the introduction of Fifa Ultimate Team and with it Fifa Coins, the highest cash grab in gaming history.
Maybe it is for EA. But they have never had a penny from me. I love playing FUT & I'm on it most days. But I've NEVER bought a pack. I play & enjoy my games earning coins & buying packs or trading with the coins I earn from playing matches. I've never had a Messi or Ronaldo, maybe because I've not bought a pack, but there's nothing better than my pretty good gold team thrashes a team full of stars that they've probably spent a fortune on. I read somewhere what they make each year from FUT packs, it's insane, but I don't blame EA, I blame the gullible who are too impatient.
IM not into Fifa at all, but I can see how FUT can be fun when played legit. But the temptation of just buying my way to victory would be too much. I always feel like im accomplishing less if other people are just spending money and getting further.
Maybe there isn't a shortage of ideas, but they clearly aren't implementing any good ones.
Each new version only has maybe one real new feature, so when you drip them out that slowly you won't run out of ideas anytime soon.
The only trouble is finding a way to incorporate all the improvements into a single game.
