I considered this game, until it started going for the "extreme difficulty" crowd. Complete turn off, for me. It may not have mattered anyway, since I haven't heard of a physical release for the game.

What is it about appealing to the "Extreme Difficulty" crowd that turns you off.

Tiqila1398d ago (Edited 1398d ago )

the extreme difficulty???

I feel the same, sometimes a challenge is nice, but games that are all about serving the extreme difficulty crowd will probably never be finished by me (this is what happened with Demon Souls and I am always disappointed about the fact that I did not finish it).

I don't play games to make me want to smash my controller through the TV. I play games to relax and have fun. I don't like games to be too easy, either. I usually play on normal.

nodim1398d ago

But there will be a physical release for the game.

Inception1398d ago

There's a physical release and if you don't have the guts to play on 'extreme difficulty' than you free to play on easy / normal diff.

kalkano1398d ago

Didn't know it had multiple difficulties, and hadn't heard about a physical release until now. I'll look into it more.

ChronoJoe1398d ago

I can see why it might put you off, but I for one find the 'extreme difficulty' really appealing.

I suppose it depends on how much experience you have with the genre / mechanics. I play a lot of turn based strategy rpgs, so most of them are boring. Disgaea, FF Tactics, Valkyria Chronicles are fun but they're all relatively easy, and that's not really that much fun.

Strategy games are basically puzzle games, and I don't see much fun in competing easy puzzles. Games like Natural Doctrine and Dark Souls might be hard, sure, but they're oh so much more satisfying when you finally beat them as a result.

I've played a lot too. My avatar is from one (Shining Force 3). I just like "normal" difficulties. I very rarely choose anything else (easier or harder).

Ugh I'm a fan of FF Tactics, Tactics Ogre, Jeanne D'Arc, Disgaea etc. etc. basically I love SRPGs in general but this looks like it's been given the real complex treatment. I want to buy this but I don't know if I can handle a game, even merely looking at the screens, that's profoundly complicated as this. I wanna have fun too you know!

dedicatedtogamers1398d ago

I've had my eye on this game since it was very first announced. It looks right up my alley.

Drithe1398d ago

To get everything in FF Tactics, you had to be one hardcore mutha fracka. I did it. But there is no way I can do that again on a game that is HARDCORE MODE.

Ravi2012PSN1398d ago if i buy this (and likely never be able to finish it) will you make patapon for vita? :D
