Sunset Overdrive Hands On Thwarted By Power Issues At San Diego Comic Con

Skewed and Reviewed got some hands on time with the 8 player mode of Sunset Overdrive at San Diego Comic Con. Sadly their session and others were cut short due to power issues that kept popping up at the booth. (San Diego Comic Con, Sunset Overdrive, Xbox One)

Big time. Earlier that day I waited and they had issues so since I had Nintendo and Alien Isolation to see, I checked back only to have this happen.

I got to play it at Comic Con. They put us in groups of 7 or so with an Insomniac guy talking to us through headsets and playing with us. You played a multiplayer map where you fought the big orange monsters, whatever they're called, as a group. It was just like the footage you've seen. Super silly, amazing particles. Felt fluid to play. You press A to jump, and X to grab a hold of things to ride, rails, ledges, etc. A bunch of weapons were unlocked too. I mainly used a basic machine gun, and a bazooka that was firing exploding teddy bears. It was fun for the 10 minutes we got to play. A little too chaotic at times with so much orange juice and sparks flying around I think. Sometimes hard to figure out what you wanted to shoot at. Would definitely want to play again tho.

link to a pic I took at the booth just so you know I'm not bs-ing... http://instagram.com/p/q46z...

Edit: Found a good video of the demo https://www.youtube.com/wat...

Lack of power or lack of console power.. ba-dum-bump.

You will note that the screens and lights at the stations still kept their power. I asked if it was an issue with the booth or the supplied power and was told not really its a power issue. Pretty vague.
