Five Underdog Video Game Releases of Holiday 2014

Agents of Geek: October kicks off the holiday video game release schedule, and it is going to leave destroyed wallets and bank accounts in its wake. The amount of games receiving marketing and media coverage is overwhelming. As I check the releases, I notice there are releases nearly every week that I want to play. Some of them I want to pick up day one, others can wait. Even with delays of games to 2015, it’s still a big season, but will a few games have a fighting chance at success? (Alien: Isolation, Bayonetta 2, PC, PS3, PS4, The Evil Within, Wii U, Xbox 360, Xbox One)

Tough time to release a game, lots of competition. If a game is in any way crappy it will quickly be punished and relegated to the bargin bin.

Evil Within a Underdog?? Holly cow how is that??? In the end if it's as good as they are claiming it will out sell a few of the so called Big Guns

except it probably wont . As good as it might end up being , it's from a genre that's fallen out of favor , unless you're an action game named resident evil .

I think it's still favored, there just hasn't been a good game to represent it in a long time. I'm stoked for Sep and beyond. It's when were going to start getting the games that truly represent this gen.

We had excellent stuff like deadspace , Siren , Fatal Frame and it still didnt sell well , people keep swearing by Resident Evil , or still hope SIlent Hill will get good again . Even if EA had crazy expectations for Dead Space .

Right for the genre what works are stuff on pc or indie games ... or if you wanna include it somehow , Last of us

Dragon Age should trade places with Shadow of Mordor because LOTR anything does well on PC and I myself and a lot of other PC Gamers I know are getting Shadow of Mordor Day 1 and are gonna wait on DA:I

Now that I see that list not too many titles are the same. The sports titles will suffer along with poor old Alien Isolation.

They need to push Alien back as the series has become C-list at best and it will suffer the most with so many good titles arriving within short distance of each other.

Gotta decide between mordor and lords for oct. Would get both but I have dragon age and far cry preordered for nov. I will eventually have both though.
