Tin Man Games Announces Appointment with F.E.A.R.

A new interactive comic book engine that allows the player to become the superhero and choose their own path via a stylized comic-like interface has been developed by Tin Man Games. The company, best known for its Gamebook Adventures and Fighting Fantasy adaptations, will soon be releasing Steve Jackson’s classic gamebook, Appointment with F.E.A.R., in a new and exciting digital comic book format.

I fondly remember the furious back-and-forth page-turning to see which decision would be the best one, the fingers jammed into various places in the book to mark important decisions that could be revisited, and the sheer wonder at the fact that I could play a game in book. Looks like a very different take on the Fighting Fantasy series, but the past games by this dev have been excellent so well worth a look.

Probably up there with my favourite Fighting Fantasy books when I was a kid. My favourite would have to be the one based in a car, which I can't remember the name of.

The F.E.A.R. fighting fantasy collection, never got into it. Definitely worth a look see though, especially if Tin Man are taking it on.
