Hardcore Gamer: It’s been a while since we’ve had a chance to use those Fisher-Price-esque plastic instruments, so the idea of a Rock Band game in 2015 or 2016 is a curious one. But curiosity doesn’t mean success.
The thing is it's going to happen. I'm sure we'll see them at the very least do a quick HD port to Xbox One/PS4 to keep it alive for current fans. If that doesn't happen, those who grew up playing the game in the aughts will eventually become nostalgic for it. Rock Band came out in 2007 so believe it or not, kids who were 7 at the time will be adults in 4 years and want to relieve their childhood.
They should make it free to play and make money from dlc band packs. And make all the old stuff work on the new version.
Thats a good idea since they already release tons of dlc they would make alot more money that way too
I would love to play Rock Band again.
Same here. Loved playing Rock band with friends.
Because you would have to buy Rock Band's instruments all over again. No thanks!
And because you can actually learn to play a REAL guitar with Rocksmith 2014!!!
Yeah!!! F@@k Gtav too! I'm gonna learn how to rob real banks! I'm being sarcastic by the way. On topic: I would kill for another Rock band. Like straight up MURDER someone! He'll I'd even take Guitar hero... :(
Not if Harmonix allows you to use your old controllers. Seeing how they're plugged in via USB, it's definitely possible.
If that was the case I would buy Rock Band Next (this) Gen day one, no questions asked.
I remember when the market was cluttered with these games. Every where you looked, it was nothing but Rockband, Guitar Hero, DJ Hero, or some other gimmicky game. I kind of miss those days. These games were kind of fun.
One reason I can think of is how most modern music sucks. There's quite a few good ones but I'd bet Justin Beiber would get more exposure than competent musicians like Nightwish.
person who wrote this straight up isn't a fan of music games. so us fans should be deprived of what we want because there are some people who........wont......necessari ly......buy it? that makes sense
That's the way they do it. And if there is another game, they'll have the person who hates the genre do the review.
Please do another RB!
What a douche schnozzle......hey if you dont wanna play it when it comes out the great thing is you don't have to! Its going to happen and other people will have fun.
I would loveeeeee a new rock band, the only thing I will hat is the fact that we certainly won't get to use our old songs. So many songs :/
Bring it back, but only if it comes with new innovations to take it to the next level.
Rock Band Sundays - my mom comes over and plays bass or guitar, I have an ION kit for drums, my wife sings. We play Rock Band, and we have a nice dinner with family. My wife and I are learning guitar and bass for real with Rocksmith, but there is a lot of fun to be had with plastic clicking instruments. I'd buy it in a heartbeat. Nothing would make me happier.
Rock band is super super lame. You could be learning to use a real instrument and actually accomplishing a real world skill if you used Rocksmith 2014 and learned to play a real guitar. Rock band is just useless and lame. No one picks up a chick by saying he is good at rock band... However if you play guitar... Proof positive it's super lame.

So in that opinion unless you're in the military COD/BF4 etc are lame? or you're a profession driver Need For Speed/Forza are lame? or unless you're made of plastic Lego games are lame? Games are made for fun and you don't have to be a professional at whatever it is that you're playing to play them. If you like them play them if you don't then don't. Please explain this because I don't under your reasoning.
