Age Of Conan 'has a long shelf life'

Publisher Eidos tells MCV about its long-term plans for the title.

"We always expected a good performance, with Conan pre-ordering well," explained Eidos' senior product manager Paul Benjamin.

"We will, of course, be supporting Age of Conan with marketing activity for months. This is only the start of a continued campaign for a product which will have a long, long shelf life."

Age of Conan was also the most successful MMO launch outside of the World of Warcraft series, and Eidos feels that the game can complement Blizzard's smash hit franchise.

"The size of the World of Warcraft audience is what all MMO's aspire to achieve but Age of Conan is offering a unique, more mature and visceral experience," added Benjamin. (Age of Conan: Hyborian Adventures, Industry, PC)
