Could Super Smash Brothers U Be Better than Melee?

From GamesReviews:

"Everybody’s excited for the next entry in the Super Smash Bros franchise, and that’s in a huge part thanks to the character and location reveals so far. But there’s one question that’s yet to be answered: could it be even better that Melee? And while we’re trying to answer that, we’ll also take a look at a few more characters that might well appear in the roster."

Well I think Brawl is better than Melee personally. Almost everything about it is just a direct upgrade to Melee. Both amazing games, nothing bad about either of them really.

The only reason Melee is considered superior is in the super competitive field like the Evolution Tournament. It's faster paced, perhaps more balanced for competitive play. But as a party game which is what it should be, Brawl is better in my opinion.

I like Brawl more than Melee too. Smoother controls were a welcome treat and the roster was pretty big in comparison. Melee has some ups that are better than Brawl such as the speed and the no tripping.

Im like the odd ball when it comes to tripping I found it extremely funny whenever it happened lol always got a good combo in afterward.

No comparison Melee was a much more technical and hardcore. Brawl was nerfed to hell. Supposedly they are going back to the melee way.

I'm not a competitive player, i like Brawl more too, it's great to see Mario and Sonic on a SSB.

I was never really into the whole Smash games before. Now I'm HUGELY anticipating the new Smash. To me, this one feels more special for some reason.

I plan to pick up a copy of both the 3DS and Wii U versions along with all the Amiibos.

November can't come soon enough!

It already is.
But I dont compare each entry.
Because they are have different feel but yeah. SSB for Wii U gonna be the best game in 2014.

There's a lot of advanced techniques that were in Melee like wavedashing that won't appear in Smash 4. This doesn't mean Smash 4 won't be competitive but I think Melee will always be more entertaining to watch and play on a competitive level.

After watching the smash tournament at E3, I don't necessarily agree with that.
That tournament was off the hook...shot...

TXIDarkAvenger1343d ago

How so?

The Smash tournament at E3 wasn't anything special. The only thing good that came out of that tournament would be showcasing characters, final smashes, items, and stages. The pros that attended never even played the game before. If you think that was more entertaining to watch than competitive Melee...

Because I've seen competitive Melee for years now, and it always comes down to a select few certain characters being in the finals unless the rules stipulate otherwise by forcing those few out of the selections from players.[which is rare]

Fast as it is, technical as it is, the novelty of it wore off and now its ALMOST become predictable.

I didn't get that feeling from the Smash 4 tournament.
Everything was unexpected and exciting and genuinely more fun to watch for me.
