Why 2015 Will be the Best Year to buy an Xbox One

Margin Media writes: Almost 8 months after the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 initially launched, the two consoles are in what's referred to as a 'drought'. Unfortunately, most of the heavy-hitter and launch window exclusives have come out, and we're still a ways from the latter half of the year's releases (especially all of those coming out in October). Given that, and the features Microsoft has planned over the next 6 months, it's clear that 2015 will be the best year for the Xbox One.

Next year will be great

Halo 5
Quantum Break

And unannounced exclusives

Games will be developed under better SDK's

I'm really liking Sadella's words too about new partnerships for Xbox and I'm excited to see what the new teams Microsoft has are working on

Next year, next SDK, next DirectX, yeah yeah.

Playstation has early 2015 locked, with The Order and Bloodbourne. If they don't release anything until the end of the year, you may have a chance.

aconnellan1616d ago

I can't comment on how much a new SDK will help them (because I don't know), but you can't dismiss that Xbox One (and PS4) games will slowly get better as the years go on, including next year. Devs having more time with any given hardware is always a good thing.

And he didn't say anything about DirectX, I don't understand why you're bringing that up

ThanatosDMC1616d ago

Is Live down right now? I cant seem to connect.

JBSleek1616d ago

Wow you care so much that you make your post about PS4 when this article is about Xbox and 2015.

Someone is insecure about the consoles they chose to buy...

pedrof931616d ago

You cared enough in order to reply to me. 'Nough said.

"I'm really liking Sadella's words too about new partnerships for Xbox and I'm excited to see what the new teams Microsoft has are working on"

Whatever he would've said you'd like so anyway. So.

that game the order looks only alright. yeah the preview of gameplay was nice but it didnt make it look enticing at all. the first video they did last year looked good but then one wasnt as interesting. i swore i could have fell asleep ot it-like most of playstations conference

Lightning Mr Bubbles1616d ago

No, 2015 will be the best year to buy a PS4.

Lightning Mr Bubbles1616d ago

Xbox One is getting some momentum because of the price cut.

... and that means the XBOX fanboys are getting momentum also.

tbone5671616d ago

The trailers for those movies were alright at best, they should make games about them..

I hope that Xbone bring out some games very soon that are worth playing. The Halo Collection looks like it could be worth getting :)

christocolus1616d ago

I think next year will be great

Quantum break
Fable legends
Phantum Dust
and we might also get Scalebound and Crackdown and when is criterions exclusive xbox one extreme sports game going to be launched?

SCW19821616d ago

Sorry it's not Xbox exclusive

AngelicIceDiamond1616d ago

@Chris Criterion's game is still unnannced which means the platforms are unannounced as well.

But I'm 95% sure its on PS4 and X1.

lelo1616d ago (Edited 1616d ago )

The X1 has a long way to go. With the games already launched on the X1 (exclusives and multiplats), it's sales should be better then they are now. X1 had a strong launch with good sales, but the last few months sales have been below expectations. That $499 X1 with Kinect didn't help one bit the Xbox brand, instead it made a lot of X360 gamers purchase a PS4. Microsoft lost a lot of sales because of the $499 X1.

Next few months are going to be very important for the X1. It seems the new $399 X1 SKU has already improved X1's sales in June, remains to be seen if it can continue with the improvement for the rest of the year.

One other thing that's not helping the X1 is all this 1080/60fps debacle. Microsoft really should have wasted a few extra $$$ and made a more powerfull console.

AngelicIceDiamond1616d ago

"while Fable Legends, Crackdown, the next Gears of War, Halo 5: Guardians, Inside, Phantom Dust, D4, and Scalebound are all slated for release in 2015 or beyond."

Next year and beyond looks damn sexy for X1. Not to mention more games announced at E3 2015 will make it even better and further secure the line up.

Titan Fall, Plants vs zombies, killer instinct season 1 and season2, dead rising3, forza 5, forza horizon 2,sunset overdrive, halo collection and more in just one year. Xbox one already has quite a bit of reasons to purchase the system.

DeadlyOreo1616d ago

But for some reason sales just aren't too great. Maybe it's less about the software on offer, but rather the damage to the brand they did at e3 2013.

audiophile1011616d ago

that wouldnt surprise me. yeah e3 2013 was a complete flop but this year they turned it around by playing games non stop to get excited about.

whereas playstaton did the exact opposite.
the statistics were boring and overdone, a few indie games looked good, hardly an announcement for project morpheous, and barely anything announced for the vita except for the remote play

josephayal1616d ago

imo, I think is time to get the Xbox one
