Satellite-Free NFL Sunday Ticket For Xbox, PS4, Tablets: Coming Soon?

First, this is great. The monopoly on NFL games has always been deeply stupid. Second, this isn't precisely confirmed, but because it's been up since at least this morning and DirecTV hasn't scurried it down or run out a statement that this isn't so, we'll proceed as though it's a very likely outcome. So: You'll be able to use your phone, tablet, or computer (Mac or Windows) to watch games, or your Xbox 360, Xbox One, PS3, or PS4 (sorry, Wii U owners) to watch on your TV. We stuck the full list of supported devices below, but it's basically everything.

I hope there's a $99 Madden/subscription bundle again

Considering how awful the Sunday Ticket was on PS3, I'll wait for reviews before buying.

Some games were literally unwatchable.

I work for directv and can without a doubt call this false information. If this was true, the merger with att would fall out as well. Att has the option to cancel the merger if Sunday ticket isn't a directv exclusive.

Currently, the service is available only to people who live in select areas or residence types, or are enrolled in select universities.

That is the diclsclaimer. It wasn't available in my area. This sounds a lot like the program they had a few years ago with the PS3.

I hope its just the same thing it had in the past.
I got it on ps3 for 1 or two years, and got it with madden last year. YOu just click no or whatever an you could get it still. I think it says something like can you use a satelite where you live, and I just said no and it worked. If you click yes it takes you to sign up for directv.

We actually had directv at this house for sunday ticket long ago, so it could work. It supposedly wouldnt work well with the trees being bigger now, but really directv always sucked here because it rains alot in FL and it would break up even if just cloudy sometimes.

I can see this happening because streaming is the future and NFL and direcTV can reach customer that dont and wont get satellite TV. They have been doing it for a few years now on various devices, I feel they would get alot more business. There are plenty of people like me who would pay the ridiculous 300$ for sunday ticket without a second thought, but satellite TV is not something I will ever have again.

I agree. I had sunday ticket streaming for tha last 3 years and will continue to do so if made available. I used to have direcTV back in the day for sunday ticket and it was just bad here in south west FL. Lots of clouds and rain.
