EVO Is The Single Greatest E-Sports Event

Pixel Gate Writes:

''The world of E-sports has grown in the last few years. The rise of League of Legends, DOTA2, Call of Duty and the ever present Star Craft 2 have resulted in the scene being full of range. While each game has it’s respective following , all with their own distinct community and event presentation, there is only one event that captures the true joys of video games in a competitive nature. EVO is hands down the best representation of video games as a spectators event, a competitive event, a genuinely enjoyably event.'' (Culture, Injustice: Gods Among Us, King of Fighters, Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3, Ultra Street Fighter IV, Xbox 360)

I'd agree. I think even the participants also exhibited very good sportsmanship this year.

That blazblue though....The injustice matches were frickin awesome. There was soo much emotion. Lets raise these prize bonuses and we will see this get even more popular.Loved every minute. The brackett resets were insane ,never saw anything like it.

I think there is a lot of potential for EVO to grow much bigger, speaking in terms of the prize pools being much lower than DOTA and LoL tourneys. I watched some of the matches from this year and I was really entertained. I'm not even into fighting games much at all. If you get competitors that have interesting play styles and commentators that are not annoying and also know what they are talking about it makes these things very tense to watch.

i personally like all the commentator, they sound human and happy to be there, some guys doing other e-sports events just sound bored or forced

Yeah I agree. Too many other commentators just seem like it's a job and they're going through the motions.

The commentators at EVO get hyped just like the people watching and it sends chill bumps down the arms once those epic moments happen and everyone gets excited.

The RTS players are a pretty good community also, but I love the EVO guys. Both take genuine skill versus lag/luck of mLg.
