Destiny Beta Codes Will Be Delivered by E-Mail; Surprises/Rewards Promised Regardless of Platform

While you have to wait for the day in which Destiny's beta will begin (the 17th for PlayStation platforms and the 23rd for Xbox owners), looks like you won't have to frantically refresh our account page for those download keys as initially indicated by the message received when selecting our platforms, as Bungie will also send the codes by mail.

Personally this game dropped down from 1º Spot to below "... maybe next year, will see". C´mon it´s instanced, everything is instanced in this game, every map or zone (no matter if big or small).

Guild Wars 1 did that 2005! Defiance (the other FPS MMO with some "credibility" or not) has an open world to explore....

The game might be still fun, every game is fun the first playthrough. Since im not really into PVP anymore, certainly not since Quake - Days on the PS2/DC.. their latest footage seemed terrible off-paced and dull (basic capture the flag).

Unless they announce other pvp modes and more pve related content, running around or on a starwars podracer with some pew-pew action in between the two, not sure if that will be enough on the long run to keep people playing it.

Defiance the game
- Open World, no zoning at all.... one big world
Destiny, still better than Defiance but..
- Instance Based to keep cost at minimum, every map instance
- Nothing new or groundbreakingly never seen content before (features...)
- Capture the Flag PVP (done since first pc games, back mid 90-is ?)
- PvE (ploration) on instanced maps, what´s the playerlimit for each map? Guess we have ot waitl til the 17th of this month.

Looks good, plays good (Bungie Pedigree)... but what else can you do? Craft Buildings? Sandbox Feature perhaps? Community driven events? So far... and the longer you spend thiniking about the game, i don´t see and believe the hype for it is justified (based on what we know so far, e3 Footage, alpha on PS4 etc..).

Wish On Man´s Sky and RIME had a release date already...

@ thisismyaccount To each his own but I have to disagree. As a player that is mostly into those big budget AAA titles and mostly shooters, this is a huge change in the FPS market. For those use to COD and BF and Killzone this is a whole new experience that I think is amazing and going to keep players coming back. We've always had the standard pvp which is fine, but for Destiny it's so much bigger and better. When I get sick of pvp I can go into a strike mission or story mode and continue to build my character which will make pvp more fun. I can understand traditional RPG/MMO players not seeing much here that would be too new but for traditional shooter fans this is huge, and it's awesome.

Bungie good do something better say send out the beta codes a day early. So we don't have to wait for the beta to dl on July 17th and can get straight into exploring,looting,killing, and of course dancing after owning a boss.

For the people who were in the alpha, what would you say sets Destiny apart from other shooters. I watched one of the live broadcast and as much as i luv Bungie and the fact that i will buy it, i just can't see the big deal. It seems to be just another shooter.

It wasn't the fact that it was just a shooter. It had so much more to do in such a small package. For the few things the Alpha had, it kept me and my friends interested so much that it was literally the only thing we played on our PS4!

The co-op and multiplayer didn't seem like phoned in additions, the exploration so far seems to be worth doing, and this is without the addition of 6-man raids and more planets.

It's games like this that made me glad I got a next-gen system (yes I know this is cross-gen, but it feels like they made it with PS4/XBOne in mind).

I just checked my email. I got the destiny beta code two days ago. I'm playing on the PS3 to see if I'm going to buy it on the PS4(getting PS4 in Sept) Hopefully this beta blows me away, it will be the deciding factor.

Make sure what code you have. If it's the 9 digit code, it's the one you have to register with Bungie.net. They will email the actual Beta download codes later. Read the FAQ.

If you preordered on PSN, are you automatically granted beta access without a code?

You will probably get extra codes, but PSN will send you a message with an "attachment" that will download it. (Otherwise it should show up in your downloads list)

Finally pre ordered today. Wasn't going to. Enjoyed the Alpha so much, still confused as to why Alpha participants are not automatically in the beta, but pay walls are the world we live in now so I broke. Plus I planned on buying the game anyway. September isn't far off now so I don't see a delay. Seemed like a safe preorder. The alpha played great for an alpha. Looking forward to the beta, just waiting for Game Stop to send me my code.
