DHGF: How much you get out of this standalone expansion will depend entirely on how much you enjoy playing Real Time Tactics games online, against other people. Without a campaign mode it’s just you and your army versus the other players online. Personally I don’t really enjoy playing RTS games online, as I’m not always fast enough to figure out what the enemy is doing, but don’t let that deter you. When the game is working (and read up on that if you’re looking to buy, as the original game has had its issues.) it’s a solid experience.
Relic Entertainment has stated that they wish to see Company of Heroes 2 as a WWII platform for players to experience WWII with its various factions and armies. How exactly may Relic entertainment fulfill this desire? Well, adding two whole new factions into the fold wouldn’t be a bad start.
This standalone expansion adds two additional armies to the Company of Heroes 2 franchise, bringing the total number of playable factions to four. The expansion aims to appeal to WWII strategy fans who are eager to have a taste of what Company of Heroes 2 can bring to the western front, by featuring the U.S. Forces (USF) and Oberkommando West (OKW).
