'Assassin's Creed Unity' is the start of a 'new cycle of Assassin's Creed games'

Assassin's Creed Unity will be bringing a fresh narrative to the franchise, helping open back up that ease of access to players unfamiliar with the series. Alex Amancio, who is the creative director on Assassin's Creed Unity, talked about how this game will be a new start as well as how newcomers to Assassin's Creed will be able to jump in seamlessly.

I have a feeling its gonna lead up to the assassins being related to Sam Fisher lol

With the focus on the new systems only and online being taken out for Co-op has got me excited. That alone tells me this should be a very focused Assassin's Creed in about everyday.

I feel like Ubisoft was reluctant to take out the atrocious multiplayer, but thank goodness they did

UltraNova1255d ago (Edited 1255d ago )

Agreed.

Any major shift is more than welcome as the series milking was getting out of hand. Unity has a lot to prove if their going to keep this franchise relevant and fresh.

Of course I cant see why Ubisoft wouldn't go as far as making the Assassins Creed a semester after semester release, they sure are capable of such things...

What next? going digital only at 60 bucks?..oh wait!

Power comes with great... greed.

I really don't see why Ubisoft, with it being a brand new gen and all, just rebooted this without the number since it seems to moved away from the present story with Juno.

I'd rather just have the games fully set in the past with a crappy present day section...in FIRST PERSON, I mean talk about boring. Say what you like about Desmond but they were more interesting in third person.

RuleNumber61256d ago

Totally agree with you. Strongly disliked the first person storyline, can do without that one. They haven't said what they're doing with present day in Unity yet, but good lord, bring back another third person protag. Desmond was sure better than that first person crap.

-Foxtrot1256d ago (Edited 1256d ago )

Apparently it was so you could "become the character"...you know that silly old excuse when they can't be arsed to give a character these days a voice or character development.

Least with Desmond I could climb up walls and stuff in the present like his ancestors. People moaned he was boring but ironically his replacement was even worse.

Even then the Juno storyline was hardly touched upon. Wouldn't you think they would of us control Desmonds father or mother since it's her side the Assassin bloodline comes from.

Plus the whole "Video Game within a Video Game" was off putting.

AC4 on PS4 was the first AC game that I actually enjoyed. It was a great game. This one might be even better. I'm excited for Unity.

Menkyo1256d ago

I found its length too short and it was pretty boring to me. I had no interest in pirates or boats. Im glad Unity has left that mechanic behind.

guyman1256d ago

I loved the first 2 assassin creed games, the only 2 AC games were you felt like a true assassin. Since then the series has reduced in quality and appeal, clear indication that the series has been milked
