The upcoming Zelda spin off Hyrule Warriors will have both online and offline play.
So, nothing more than a rumor, I'd like it though, I could buy the game even earlier than expected.
I hope it's true. Since it came from someone working at the booth, I would hope it is indicative of a leak.
I won't be buying this game, but I'm sooo happy if this comes true. I really wish Nintendo added more Online coop features to all their games. I wish I could have played New Super Mario Bros U, Donkey Kong and 3d World with my cousins online.
Nintendo has already stated that online platformers and online gameplay don't mix that well. However, Bayonetta 2, Mario Kart 8, and Smash Bros all have online multiplayer, so I guess that is good.
Are you sure? Because I freakin' love LittleBigPlanet's online.
Well it's not true and there are examples that online coop can be done and done right. Hardcorps: Uprising is a good example. It may not be a platformer but this particular game has some serious platforming and hectic sections that are more complex that a regular Mario Stage. I just don't see a valid reason not to add it, unless they don't trust their network capabilities. If that's the case, then I understand, but then, I play Mario Kart 8 and everything runs perfect.
I support the LBP thing. But in the way that Super Mario games are developed, online multiplayer just wouldn't fit at all, so I agree.
@Metallox But we are not talking about Multiplayer, we are talking about Coop which the games (New Super Mario Bros U and Super Mario 3D World) already have.
Their reasoning with online in platformers was consistently "We wanted to focus on players being in the same room" which is a lousy excuse. If they have to, they can make it so only friends can play together. Totally eliminates the problem of players getting trolled by strangers.
Tell that to 'Splosion Man and Little Big Planet, platforming games with perfectly working online play. Sorry dude, I love Nintendo, but that excuse is just that: an excuse, and it's bullshit.
I want both Sony and Nintendo to try and push having their portable consoles able to play multiplayer with their home consoles. If I have Dynasty Warriors on Vita I want to play with my friends on PS4, for example. MineCraft as well shouldn't really have any excuse to not have cross-platform multiplayer. In a response to someone asking if he can play with his nephew on PS3 while he plays it on PS4 one of the developers said it is unlikely because of world size.. Which they can easily just cut back the world size for the PS4 console for hosting or let them connect to a PS3 host who already has that world size by default.
Agreed. Same with Diablo 3. It seems that they are implementing the cross play thing a bit more, but I hope it becomes a permanent feature for all games. Same with purchases. Examples: I bought Strider for PS3, then my purchase should carry on to PS4. Same with a lot of other PSN games i have like: Xmen Arcade, Simpsons Arcade, TMNT, Scott Pilgrim, etc. On my Wii I had TONS of Virtual Consoles games that are not available on WiiU yet. I had all Castlevanias, all available megamans (except for 9 and 10) They all should have been available from the start and I should be able to play them with just one purchase over Wii, 3DS or WiiU.
@Dannycr: you can transfer everything from your Wii to your Wii U, Virtual Console titles and save data included. Once you do that, you will be able to play all of it on your Wii U, in Wii mode. I know that isn't exactly what you meant, but the option is there, and the thing is that Nintendo allows you to transfer all of it to your new console without any loss. That's not something you can do with your PS4.
Just when you think it couldn't get better.
Day one i would suggest people to get this, even if you don't like the button masher, it's going to be a historical fusion. if there is a special edition. keep it factory seal.
A few of the other Warriors games have online co-op too, so I wouldn't be surprised if Hyrule Warriors has it. I don't really know if it's gonna be as great as it sounds or if it'll be typical warriors fare for co-op, but either way it's a good addition.
Wahoo! I need some button mashing, post haste!
And will still not cost me a penny..
Definitely one of Wii U's high points.
