After reading the article I'm with the author 100%, it really doesn't change my opinion about the game. I remember when Fear Effect 2 on PS1 had lesbian main characters, and no one complained (of course it was geared towards younger men at the time). Mass Effect had optional same gender relationships (and I guarantee a lot of men chose a female main just to see them with another woman) yet post "hate" on forums and various websites. Hell Fallout NV even had some lesbians in the game, very few (if anyone) had anything to say about it.

I don't care sexual orientation of a character, yes it does help to at least know for romancing and/or storyline purposes however no I'm not going to write off a game just because someone likes the same gender. It's a part of life, a part of our society, and if people can't accept it then move on to another game. No I'm not gay/bi myself, however I accept people as-is; I even told gay guys to "stay gay" because it's less competition when I talk to women (and lesbians to make a video I can watch later).
