HeyPoorPlayer's Ayla gives her opinion on Nintendo versus other game companies.
Hanzala from eXputer: "The cruel hammer of Nintendo has fallen. Farewell, 3DS and Wii U, you surely brightened my life and many others; you won't be forgotten."
Hanzla from eXputer inquires: "If Xbox can care about preserving its games and legacy, what exactly is wrong with Nintendo, trying to kill game preservation single-handedly?"
Ahh yes the good old game preservation of saving all your games to a removable hhd on the Xbox 360, taking it round your mates house, setting up multiple tvs to
Be met with “save data corrupted, please re download”
Or how about removing 360 games
From the store
, download them now or else, and, better hope to god that save data doesn’t corrupt, or it’s lost for ever
Nice one ☝️
This is just a scammy PR move to distract from the fact they are going digital only and trying to push streaming and subscriptions only.
No gaming company has pushed harder to remove ownership than Microsoft.
Without discs there is no preservation, preservation can't be done by the rights holders it can only be done by the consumers, anything else is a lie.
Nobody wants this. Sales or the lack of it in the case of XBOX is very telling. I wonder how the adorably all digital series X will fare. Adorably dismal perhaps?
Only time will tell, but for from someone like me suspecting that Xbox is trying to gracefully exit the console market, that "forward compatibility" team is trying to get Xbox games playing on Windows PCs. I mean, it's nice that they're not planning on exiting with a "enjoy your games while the hardware still works" message, so that's nice. They still have a brand to protect via Microsoft so probably feel obligated to have a better exit strategy.
Danish from eXputer: "Nintendo has historically gone against player-made content and emulation of its games. This has done much to harm the company's image."
They need to stop announcing these mods and fan remakes until they're finished. Finish it, upload it, and then if Nintendo dmca's it tough shit. Once it's online, people can share it around, even if the original download gets taken down.
This is all coming from the mouth of short-sighted fandom and grifting madness.
No.... it wont. There is a clear defined reason why they don't. This is nothing new. Make your own shi7 from your own original ideas especially if you are trying to capitalize of it it. Duh.
Yeah, hire people that have zero respect or understanding for an established process. Wow. Yep. Totally makes sense.
Good read and I agree. In a generation where all people want is realism and "dark" stories it's nice to have Nintendo giving a breathe of fresh air. While a lot of games go with browns and bland colors you will always find colorful worlds with games focused on gameplay and not how far the can push the morality line.
I grew up with nintendo like a lot of people and grew into a nintendo sucks phase but since they announced the WiiU they slowly brought me back and now I can really appreciate all games colorful and fun or dark and serious.
Nintendo only competes with Nintendo.
A genre for casual, kiddie gaming and adults who wanna stay a kid at heart. This market is easy to get, easily amused, and easy money. But also easy to lose like in the case of the Wii u.
@MCG
"Nintendo only competes with Nintendo."
Nah. While PlayStation went for the 19 & up adult gamers since PSOne, PS2, PSP, PS3, PS Vita to PS4 and left Mario virtually unchallenged as far as kiddie games are concerned, Ninty now competes with family friendly mobile gaming.
Which is good competition.
Also...
While not leaving the hardcore gamers, Sony said they are now going for the mobile gaming market with PS Vita for a balanced gaming platform.
Things are getting interesting....
I def used to be a nintendo fanboy. Felt like the 360 ps3 gen all over again. Except it was sega and nes. They always had great games and more every year that were better than the last. Leaving the 16 bit for 32 came super nintendo wich also delivered games games and great games. Than nintendo you guessed it 64 wich did the same as the last. But when the gamecube came along I had already moved on to the ps1. Than the announcement of the wii and I thought this can be amazing. Well for me not so much. I was the last in line to get a wii the day it came out. Played it for about a year than traded it in for a ps3. Bought my sister a wii u and she loves it. Seems like they are finally hitting their stride again. Go nintendo go!
Nintebdo will always be number one when it comes to fantasy and finding the kid in us sony is a different company its like putting Apple's and oranges together sony gos for weird and out of the box game journey shadow of the colosus puxel junk monster
While nintendo hit you with fantasy like zelda kirby mario metroids etc
Both are great in their own way love both
