Shovel Knight Review | MONG

Each year there are a plethora of indie titles, many of them which are naturally described as "a love letter to classic gaming". Hey Kane! I'm the reviewer from the article -- glad you noticed my small dig at LBP.

LBP was one of my first PS3 games, and while I love and respect the title for it's level-creation abilities and interesting level design, I feel the actual platforming mechanics aren't as "up-to-snuff" as classic games or more recent titles (New Super Mario Bros. U/Rayman Legends/etc.).

Of course, game mechanics and controls are always a matter of preference. My preference is just quick controls that don't feel heavy and weighted!

Thanks for reading that thouroughly!

it did take me a bit to get use to the controls to littlebigplanet. but back in the day i didn't care for platforming games. i didn't start really liking them until the PS1 era. castlevania symphony of the night.
