No one may have imagined that Minecraft would step onto the consoles, if you were an early adopter of the PC version. Three and a half years later, the console versions have screamed by PC unit sales.
That's actually pretty impressive.
I can't wait for the PS4 launch. Even if the world isn't as large as the PC, it's still going to be worth buying.
Is it 1080p 60fps or what on PS4? I haven't seen anything about it.
LOL. Not sure if that's a joke or not, but the world size is much improved over 360/PS3 sizes.
No it's not a joke. I play split screen a lot and it would bog down pretty bad sometimes on 360 during dense scenes. I just like a smooth experience throughout. Anyways I'm very excited about the bigger worlds and stuff. I'll be getting this on PS4 can't wait!
Infected: I know that with the increase in RAM on PS4/XBONE, the game has much better draw distance. I can't see it coming in at less than 1080p, considering the engine is unchanged between generations.
Good thing PS3 & PS Vita are Cross Buy, boy! Can't wait for the PS Vita version, whoo hoo! Marry That Girl Marry her anyway. Marry That Girl
I own this game for two devices already.... PC and phone.... ugh..... I need to stop buying this game over and over again.
Picking this up for PS4 for sure!
Not very surprising, consoles have a larger presence in gaming than PCs. Skipped the ps3 version to get it on ps4 but damn, it's taking forever.
I don't think that consoles have a larger presence for gaming, ESPECIALLY for a game that taxes your PC so little as Minecraft does.
PC is the worst performing version, mainly because it's written in JAVA and poorly optimized as such. I've had the PC version since 09 and I've played the console versions.
joel, I don't know how you can say that. look at tv ads - do you ever see pc game commercials as often as console game commercials? look at sales of games with minecraft being a perfect example - sales are almost always higher on console. walk in to a game store - see how much space and marketing is directed towards consoles and how much towards pc games. I don't have an issue with console or pc - i'll play either - but I don't see how anyone can suggest that consoles don't have a larger presence in gaming.
@nucky64 developers don't advertise on tv for pc games because it's more effective to advertise through places where pc gamers frequent like steam, origin, gog and numerous pc gaming sites. Minecraft has higher sales than pc only because the sales of the pc version are unfairly compared to the COMBINED sales of all consoles. Separate the sales of the individual platforms as you should and you'll see how "dead" pc gaming is. Your store argument is also very flawed. Stores normally don't sell games on systems they don't sell. Since you don't see places like Gamestop selling pc hardware you won't see them selling pc games. Walmart, Best Buy, Target etc. do sell pc's so you'll see floor space given to pc games. Also when you factor in the increasing popularity of digital distribution and it becomes apparent why YOU never see pc games in stores especially since I doubt you go to any shops that cater to pc gamers. When you take the time to think, understanding things becomes easy.
Just one more block!!!!! Can't wait for the ps4 version. Also very impressive on their part do you think they will make anything else as impressive or is minecraft their one and only?
Well we all know why ;P http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-W...
While i partly agree, the PC versions sales are also somewhat inflated by families with multiple licences. I have four! I'd have just used splitscreen on console. :D
What a phenomenon Minecrafts been a testament to there being more to games than resolution.
Good for the guys at Mojang. I'll probably buy it again on ps4, depending on when it releases. It's such a pointless game and i don't know why i get overly addicted to it, but i'm not complaining.
This is why consoles rule the waves.
You're welcome for birthing and supporting indie development as a whole, before your big console manufacturers felt it was the cool thing to do so.
But, but, consoles are doomed according to "master race"!
PC gaming is dead, there's nothing but indies and mmos that will mostly probably release on consoles
I would like to think Gabe's billionaire status proves otherwise, though there will always be dreamers like you.
Never got into it
It is a bit unfair to have two platforms vs the one platform when comparing sales. It should be one vs one ie ps3 sales vs pc or microsoft sales vs pc not both.
PC/MAC what its on OSX!? where can i download it!?
the Xbox 360 version alone has sold more than 12 million copies.what about ps3 ? pc sales is 15,799,730 so can anyone tell me who win ?
Exactly. This is a console-centric site so you can expect that kind of bias.
Minecraft is great on consoles, my son played the hell out of it. But if you can, play it on pc, because your missing out on 90% of the game not being able to install mods. My sons current favorite mod is Pixelmon. Along with a mod that gives the blocks a Borderlands look to them. Plus you don't have to pay for character skins. You just click change character, download the skin you want to use, or customize your own. It's definitely worth grabbing if it's your only choice, but Minecraft should definitely be played on PC. It's a game meant to be modded. I do think it's great there is a console version, because the game should be available to everyone. It's fun, and great for all ages.
What does this mean. This game is on damn near every platform under the sun.
