10 Video Games That Were Always Doomed To Fail

From bloated budgets to outright unmarketable premises, each of these games have their own stories behind their failures. While some are tales of tragedy, others are cynical cash-ins that totally deserved their lack of success. One thing that all of them share in common though, is that it was obviously going to end in tears from the start. (Daikatana, Duke Nukem Forever, Killer 7, PC, PS3, Xbox 360)

Brutal Legend is awesome, one of the best soundtracks ever, and the narrative is great. Rock legends like Ozzy and Lemmy Kilmister are in it. But the gameplay is nothing special, the RTS gameplay for example. Sadly this game had disappointing sales.
Shenmue is a classic, still want a HD remake for this generation.

Brutal Legend's mediocre gameplay for me was by far outweighed by how much it exploded my interest in metal. Not to mention the world looked so awesome and fun to explore. The cutscenes were really entertaining unlike most games too. At the end of the day though, it didn't do much that a movie couldn't deliver on though. A shame really, a bit more refinement on the gameplay and it would have been a real... legend (don't kill me, pls.)

5 years from now Destiny and Elder Scrolls Online will be making this list

Again.. E.T. was huge commercial disaster, but it's far from the worst game ever.

I could easily come up with 20 worse games on the 2600 alone! Starting with 2600 Pacman and Donkey Kong!

I prefer 2600 Pacman over the ET game. :O
