How Nintendo Silenced Its Critics At E3 2014

"Zelda! Amiibo! Splatoon!
It's fair to say that many people in the industry who are deemed to be "experts" didn't give Nintendo much of a chance at this year's E3. The company's decision to not hold a traditional press conference for the second year running — coupled with the well-publicised struggles of the Wii U — resulted in many dire predictions for the firm in the face of Sony and Microsoft's next-gen assault."

Good video... only one thing I thought was missing. Bayonetta 2 footage and the inclusion of Bayonetta 1.

Nintendo did an amazing job this E3!

I'm suprised this was missing from their trailer.

where is there = to resident evil 4 exclusively on gamecube?

wonderfulmonkeyman1519d ago

Devil's Third fills that gap nicely, IMO.

Super Smash- Good but nothing new
Mario kart 8- Good but nothing new
Zelda - looks good but no real game footage and again nothing new
splatoon- Nothing to get excited about, looked like a game made for Nick junior.
Everything else looked underwhelming..

Oh by the way the guy in the video was extremely creepy

"Zelda - looks good but no real game footage and again nothing new "

You haven't even seen anything of gameplay at all.. Dafuq mate?

"splatoon- Nothing to get excited about, looked like a game made for Nick junior. "
It did remind me of Nickelodeon but only the intro( the orange ink ), but gameplay looks tight. Scared of having a bit of fun?

Apparently you missed Bayonetta 2, Project S.T.E.A.M, Devil's Third and Xenoblade Chronicles X, then?

They may not be what you were hoping for, but Bayonetta 2 and X are sequels to some rather highly acclaimed games of last gen.

Project S.T.E.A.M and Splatoon are at least unique, also quite fun looking. (though I'll admit Splatoon was Nickelodeonish)

Lol, and you discredit yourself by bringing up Mario Kart 8. Sorry pal, wasn't there, but nice try.

wonderfulmonkeyman1519d ago

Smash had new mechanics and modes shown off alongside THREE new characters.

Mario Kart 8 was confirmed to be getting more DLC and to work with Amiibo's in the future.

Zelda's footage WAS ALL IN-GAME, and WAS ALL NEW.

Splatoon was the most original take on shooters in years. Only the dude-bros are actually hating on it, and it's a new IP, which is what they've been whining like a bunch of pansies for anyways, so they should shut their mouths.

Nintendo won, you're salty, deal with it.

Thefreeman0121519d ago

Lol I'm salty? Far from it. I'm just tired of Nintendo's old bag of tricks. Plus I think all shooters have grown stale. I don't think this is a new take on it

just-joe1519d ago

So they release more Mario and complain it's nothing new. They announce Splatoon a NEW franchise and think it's nothing special. Alright.

you can never silence Nintendo critics they have been deprived of brain cells and will continue you repeat the same critique against Nintendo for all eternity.

Even if there was nothing to criticize and Nintendo made all the changes critics wanted, they would just try and find something else to criticize, they would probably start critizing the way in which Nintendo is spelt, they'd say the "ten" in NinTENdo should be digits not letters or something stupid like that. Lol

eferreira1519d ago

Nintendo didn't do that great of a job. To close out with Splatoon and another character for smash isn't anything exciting. Only games really got me going was zelda and mario maker.
