“There are things we are doing in Forza Horizon 2 on Xbox One that honestly couldn’t be done on any other console."
I guessed as much, while they are both being developed ground up for each console its necessary to point out that one version is being powered by a much more powerful hardware& a more advanced engine. However,i'd like to see a gameplay video of the 360 version. The original forza looked great on 360&if they can even achieve that same level of quality or better on the hardware it would be amazing.
Two different developers as well. It's amazing what they have done with an 8 year old console with 512mb of RAM, but time catches up to us all.
Well the RAMs of the two console is totally different, so its affects both game developments.
The Drivatar and weathersystem will be missing from the X360 version. "While Microsoft will talk more specifically about the Xbox 360 edition later this year, Fulton confirmed the weather system and Drivatars are only possible on Xbox One." http://www.digitalspy.com/g...
The weather system I can understand. But, Drivatars? How could that only be possible on X1 when it just takes data from your races and uploads it?
@sinspirit Drivatars reportedly uses the azure servers to analyse the players data to form a drivatar. Microsoft apparently isn't giving xb360 games same access to their azure servers as with the xb1. Collecting racing data In order to calculate the consistency, driving lines, acceleration, habits, mistakes etc. which in turns creates drivatars representing the racing behaviour and skills from the player.
@sinspirit You're right probably due the XB1 verison using thunderhead a.k.a Azure cloud reserve for XB1. Am also guessing the seamless multiplayer won't be in also.
@Charybdis and Kayant. Yea.. But, they could just as easily use the Azure cloud on 360. Nothing stops the cloud from being used on 360 other then Microsoft. They are just trying to push their latest product by skipping some features on the lesser version. It's ridiculous that they own the cloud because of all the money that people put into Live on 360 for years just to try and get them to buy their next product to use it.
@ article, would hope so....xbox One owners would be pissed if they just get a down graded game.
Troll, why would Xbox One owners get a downgraded game?
This is really a good thing. When Horizon 2 was announced some people were put off by it being a cross-gen game. It looks like there is no need to worry. The 360 version will not hold the X1 version back. Lets hope that both games are fun
If i were to choose which version to get, i would choose the X1 version because of the systems azure servers to analyze players data. I'm the clean racing type player, so if i was not playing and my friends was, With the azure servers saving my driving data, my friends could recognize my driving style while they racing and while i'm not playing it. IMO i wouldn't even want the last gen version of it because of the lack of features of it.
The 360 version is 1080p! Sorry I'm an xbox guy. I just thought it was funny.
Will be interesting to see the two versions but ide expect it to be a bit like titanfall on the 360 and one. I also think the weather system will just be one type of rain and the spray etc will look the same on all cars. That said if the team working on the 360 version are half as good as the pg guys they will have a great game to play even on old hardware as the 1st Horizon looked and played amazing. For me though I can't wait for Horizon 2 on the Xbox one as the 1st one for me as the best racing game of last gen.
