I’ve spent about an hour playing Shovel Knight on the Wii U, and I couldn’t be happier. I feel like I’m 8 years old and playing Megaman for the first time. There’s not really anything like it, but that’s exactly how I feel when I play Shovel Knight. It feels like I’m playing a classic NES game in terms of gameplay and aesthetics, but it also relies purely on player skill . The result is a seamless experience inspired by the classics we all know and love.
