IGN- Hands on with Playstation Now BETA

Sony was kind enough to let IGN try out the beta of their PlayStation Now streaming game service. As we’ve told you before, PlayStation now will let you stream a selection of PlayStation 3 games to your PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, and Vita systems, offering several pricing tiers depending the title, and the length of your rental period.

The story is too old to be commented.

It should be 2 bucks to rent for 3 days and 5 for 7 days. 8 to 10 bucks to buy, depending on how old the game is.

The price to buy should just be the current price of that game on the PS Store.

@Morganfell

"That pricing is ridiculous. Think about it. You want to rent a game that may still cost $49 to $59 that may have 15 hours of play time in it for $2. Sony cannot possibly pay a fair amount to publishers for that cost. Not happening. People are being ridiculous if they think they should be able to rent all titles for next to nothing. There has to be a tiered system not only for length of rental but also for the game itself based on current retail value."

If Sony stays with the current pricing model, they'll lose money because no one is going to pay 3 dollars to rent a game for 1 day. No one is going to pay 5 for a 3 day rental. And I can assure you that no one is dumb enough to pay for a 30 day rental when most games can be finished in a week or less.

Ps plus should give the option to select 2 games per month.

I was really hoping that they's adopt a Netflix subscription model. The prices they listed (yes, I know they are set by the publishers) are CRAZY! I went from excitedly curious to "Nope." is a few seconds after I read the pricing.

Netflix subscription model at a reasonable price (about 15$/month) would make this thing take off. Their current model in the beta is pretty trash.
