Ready at Dawn co-founder Ru Weerasuriya says the onus at the onset of development was to show off what the PS4 could do visually, graphically, and technologically.
Alright then, the showcase game is on.
https://www.youtube.com/wat... I like the explosions effects and when time goes slowly to kill multiple enemies. It looks like another heavily story driven game like The Last of Us.
@XiSasukeUchiha, I agree! Attention: The Order 1886, show us the power of the PS4, by adding campaign co-op in your game to be the 1st PS4 exclusive to do so. Thanks
So was the yawnfest Ryse on the xbox side.
Right. As a PS4 owner, I am not even slightly enthused about this one.
I find it weird that just because this game does look very good, people are assuming that the gameplay will be horrible. Yes I do think it will be highly story driving, but not on rails, and no I do not think it disrupts gameplay. I have no problem with QTE as long as they do it right, like the part in MGS4 where you are crawling through the hallway, so good. I think they just haven't showed much of the game on purpose. But I do agree UC2 greater than UC3 :D And I am sick of companys changing things because of gamers whining, I want them to make their vision of the game they think will be the best, and if it isn't good, than let the sales show it.
@whothedog I think people have valid reason to be concerned but mostly because the developer has claimed that the game is running at 30fps instead of 60fps for aesthetic appeal and not because they can't physically run it at 60. That being said I personally think the game looks great and expect to see a lot of naysayers eat their words when it turns out that the cinematic nature of this game is akin to TLOU.
I hope Ryse isn't all the XB1 can do. It wasn't that amazing graphically.
You're crazy, Ryse is the best looking current gen game We'll have to wait to find out if The Order and Uncharted look that good when they ship Remember what happened when Sony said the Killzone 2 trailer was representative of the in-game graphics. The final release wasn't even close to the graphics in the trailer
Agreed linear game running at 900p 15fps Xbox One will def have better looking games down the road.Lifeisgamesok-No Infamous SS is just facts accept and move on Ryse is the best looking Xbone game not console game Uncharted 4 runs at 1080p 60fps unrivaled graphics and The order already mops the floor with Ryse.
I only own a PS4 and PC and even I know that that is a blatant lie. Ryse is definitely one of the top 3 best looking console games at the moment.
@lifeisagameok remember what happened to literally all of Xbone's launch games? Specifically Forza, that bait and switch. Hell even Ryse took a hit.
So any game with exceptional graphics is destined to suck because Ryse sucked in your opinion ? God of War 3, Uncharted 2, TLOU etc showcased the ps3 power, and they're ALL critically acclaimed games (TLOU being the most awarded last gen game!). Bottom line is we haven't seen much of this game and can't really judge it till it's out, plus Ready At Dawn have better history than Crytek when it comes to delivering on the gameplay front, granted they only made PSP games but they were of high quality.
No. He's saying that you cannot count the game as amazing solely based on visuals. You turned that into a straw man, where because Ryse sucked, Order must also suck. That is not what he said.
uncharted 4 will do that
I have high hopes for The Order as well. Looks like it will be an exciting and fun experience.
same here. i pre-ordered it not long after those gameplay gifs popped up on the net. its my kind of game, just an awesome story driven cinematic experience where i can just lax out in my beenbag with the full surround and my 55inch bravia cranked and lose a couple of days sleep.
Are the cutscenes ingame or CG? (Genuine question)
The way they integrate seemlessly, I assumed they were in-game. Could be wrong though.
They are in-game.
They're in-game real-time. Most of the cut-scenes almost aren't even cut-scenes by standard terms because you can interact with them at certain points whether it's by a button press or whatever. Example, there's a cut-scene where the main character takes a new gun out of a box and the scene shows him holding it, during this part you can move your controller around and on screen his hands holding the gun respond to your controller movement. It's pretty awesome. Here: http://farm6.staticflickr.c...
BUT guys!!!! its only 30FPS, it must suck then right? I mean im only going by the comments i usually see with other articles, so it must be the same for PS4?
Its their first console game jumping from a psp, ill give em a pass. What I find impressive is that a developer known for making psp games is creating one of the most visually impressive title
30 is fine, under 30 would worry me. I have never seen anyone say 30 fps wasn't ok. Now I have seen people compare two versions of the same game, one playing better than the other or being a higher res. And personally I have always thought that if someone has the choice to get the version that plays better, in higher res etc.. then why not get the best version of the same game. If someone doesn't have the choice it doesn't really matter, it's the same game and would be fun regardless if it's good.
Link or lie
Only Xbox fans like you say that. PS fans are OK with 30FPS its 720P that really bothers them.
They have an excuse for it. If you watched movies at 48-60 FPS they look fake with CGI explosions and such
This game looks great. I'm really looking forward to this.
The game looks stunning, my type of game' its going to be high quality.
Ahh man, so it is gonna be super linear like in all the gameplay shown so far. Moving along on the conveyer belt, shooting as you go. Well, we'll see what score it gets, and I'll decide if it's worth it based on that, visuals, and length of game. Hopefully, if this game goes over well and they start on something else right away - they consider going for a more open world gameplay style next time.
Best Looking Game ever by miles: http://upcity.ir/images2/67...
Too bad it is 500K pixels shy of 1080p. 1920x800 is still about about 140K more than 1600x900 but it's still sub Full HD. Hopefully this does not dampen the experience of PS4 fans. I've heard if a game is not true 1080p than it can seriously dampen the experience.
It will still be the best looking console game ever created upon its release. I would bet the XB1 won't have a game with similar graphical fidelity until sometime in 2016. This is coming from someone that owns both consoles and has no brand or platform preference. You should try it. You just seem really immature and bitter all of the time. It's pretty weird but also really pathetic.
Since sdf are basching all sub 1080 xbox one s game I can see sarcsam in his post....don t you?
best looking 'console game' no it will be the best looking game period
not all that bad if its "shy" of 1080p and still looks better than anything xbone has so far......
@ illusive: as it's been explained several times - the game is native 1080p. http://tay.kotaku.com/why-t...
I get the sarcasm but when a game doesn't match the native res of your TV it looks like crap. I don't have a 900p TV. When you upscale you get all kinds of nasty ugly artifacts. Change your PC res settings to something that doesn't match your monitor and see how "great" that looks. There is your proof.
LOL. Do you see Blu-ray movie videophiles/enthusiasts calling 1080p movies 800p? Because the films have black bars above and below the frame? No. It's a 1080p image. It has a 1080p pixel density. And it looks better than anything out there, other than Uncharted 4, which I'm having a hard time believing they will get running at 60fps and 1080p and still be able to look THAT incredible.
It will showcase the PS4's power, but Uncharted 4 will epitomize it.
Indeed. Very much Killzone 2 to Uncharted 2 in 2009. The former put the PS3 on the map, the latter pushed it to heights some games, even to this day, have trouble matching!
I'm going to rent this one first and if I enjoy it I'll buy it. I wanna get a feel for the game before I go full on for it.
Don't understand. There have already been enough titles that showcase the power of the console. Killzone & Infamous removed all doubt... this better not be a Ryse.
They should start to put more NPC becouse games felt empty....gfx<Life /NPC
Yes. It will showcase via the power of motion blur, depth of field and quick time events. The PS4 will do some amazing things later on but this game will end up mediocre.
Yeah I HATE QTEs. It is just a lazy way out so that devs don't need to do the real work of complex battle AI etc. Just run pre done scripts and have the monkey press the right button in time. Why do a big boss battle with complex motion and have to balance player interaction with boss reactions and counter attacks etc? That is too much codin' work. Just run a few pre done motion files and if you didn't follow the button prompts, try again. Worse yet the QTE have nothing to do with anything. It isn't like they correspond to movements that make sense, it is just watching for prompts. X,X, Circle, Square, X, X, DAMN! should have been Circle! You lose, start annoying sequence again, better luck next time. So lame.
My girlfriend's son is going to have to hop on my xbox for about a week, or so whenever this releases. I have very high hopes for this game. I think Ready at Dawn has what it takes to successfuly transition from the PSP to the console space. This along with The Witcher in the same week...May have to use a week of sick days. Gotta love winter colds.
can't wait screw all the hater
