VideoGamer: "Nintendo had a sold showing at this year's E3, highlighting its Wii U plans with confidence and belief. But in terms of what was on the showfloor, did it actually make that much of an impact?"
Devil's Third is a game I'm gonna pick up. The rest I wanted I already knew.
All Companies made me want to buy their console with the games that were shown. They all did AT LEAST a solid job of giving us a look at what to expect. The Problem is that Realistically, Of those 30 games, only 5 will be REAL 9/10's. ( If that matters to you). Of the games shown, Some of those WILL BE TRASH. Why? Because that is what history says will happen and I intend to listen. * Nobody Won, but Nintendo earned the most respect from gamers.
Yes, Nintendo actually won. I was a bit disappointed in Sony's E3.
Well I agree with boogie2988 when he said that "We gamers won" before anything else. Nintendo certainly put on a dang good show. Gotta give 'em credit where it's due. They pulled out the big guns for E3 and put out games, games and more games.
Not only wa it a good presentation no boring pr numbers talk, no awkward mishaps , nintendos treehouse live streams were awesome throughout all e3 week, they had a smash tournament and also let fans try it out ay bst buys. Nintendo changed the way we look at e3 Other companies need to take notes
Do you play presentations or games? ;)
What exactly are you implying? Nintendo had a whole tournament dedicated to fans trying out a new smash game. I didn't see Sony or Microsoft do.anything of the sorf
You obviously play the sales game According to you guys because of poor wii u Sales, its games are not as fun. E3 is about showing what your company has in store and nintendo did that better than anybody They understood the kind of information gamers wanted. Just to be clear gamers dont want numbers McPr guy talking for 30 minutes Youve been really actice recently on overything nintendo, do yiu feel threatened?

@LOL_WUT Do you contribute or just troll? ;)
If we're talking about what was on the show floor, the Nintendo treehouse presentations, with all of that gameplay instead of cutscenes, and new details on their projects as well as interviews with the developers of the games, was more than enough to earn them the accolades. Three days worth, at that. I hope they make The Treehouse an annual thing for every E3 going forward, honestly!
All IMO of course... The Previous E3's, 2012 and 2013, Nintendo lost which was hard to o because they 2012 they were showing-off WiiU. So, when I say, "In 2014 Nintendo Won." Understand, that I know the difference. If E3 is about presenting yourself and hype... They did it the best (this year). They got more out of E3 than the others. I know that 2015 is going to be harder. (Sony owns Movie Studios and Microsoft is Cashzilla). But then again if Zelda is playable and is as good as it looks... Then, Next year Nintendo Direct E3 Video will only contain Reggie or Iwata saying, "Legend of Zelda:____ is playable at the Nintendo Booth. Have a great E3."
I was impressed most by nintendo's E3. So for me yes nintendo won E3.
No. Nintendo showed less games. The games they did show were smaller, less competent titles than that of PS4/Xbone. When you're relegetated to flaunting an INDIE title as a "2015 release" -- well, you got some problems there. Look, the Nintendo digital event was fluff. It was over the top, CGI, pre-rendered fluff. A pre-rendered pokemon cinematic to open for yet another handheld pokemon title? ..really? I think the issue here is that all three companies were trying to ham it up with PRESENTATION -- and while Sony and MS succeeded in bringing the content as well as over the top presentation -- Nintendo did not succeed in the same way. Go look at Nintendo's presentation again. You'll see that I'm right. ..now back to leveling my Blood Elf mage! DO SOMETHIN! ^^
I hope this is sarcasm buecause everything that you just said it's exactly the opposite of what they showed. Sony and Microsoft conference were the one full of CGI, Nintendo was all gameplay.
Well said. Microsoft were the kings of CG footage at that E3. Sony was just a tad less surprising.
I hope this is scarcasm because Nintendo was just as CGI trailer as everyone else....
Everything i saw from Nintendo was gameplay and ingame engine footage.
Did Nintendo show less games than Sony and MS? YES. Did Nintendo depend on CGI fluff and awkward CEO 'battle' segments - FLUFF? YES. Am I currently leveling a Blood Elf mage? YES. So far we have three positive hits on what I've said. Now I would like for you to explain how "Everything that you said was the exact opposite of what they showed." Go on, let's hear it.

Wow, this comment is all sorts of inaccurate. Nintendo's show was almost nothing but exclusives, gorgeous ones at that. And you can't criticize Nintendo for showcasing an indie title, especially when Sony did the same thing with the (IMO) more impressive No Man's Sky. The Digital Event had some pre-recorded stuff, but just about all of the games they showed were in engine. In fact, the Pokemon trailer you are criticizing had actual gameplay in it. It's one thing if you didn't like the show, but it's another if you're going to fabricate your criticisms.
Last I checked, Xenoblade Chronicles X and Zelda weren't indie games. What are you talking about? Also, nothing wrong with indies. No Man's Sky was one of the highlights of Sony's conference, and it looks effin' awesome... and it's an indie game releasing on 2015. Also, EVERYTHING Nintendo showed was actual gameplay, including the Zelda Wii U preview. Even the footage for Xenoblade Chronicles X was in-game (as anyone that already played the first Xenoblade could guess for very obvious reasons). That leaves us with that Pokémon trailer... which, yeah, was pre-rendered. And was the only game that showed it, and the only 3DS title featured on that Digital stream. Hyperbole much? You also completely forget about Nintendo's Treehouse Live stream, which streamed non-stop for the entirety of the E3, from the show floor, and highlighted several games. Lastly, take a look at this page: http://e3.nintendo.com/game... That's all the games that Nintendo showcased at E3 last week. And most of them are exclusive to their systems, to booth. Try and downplay Nintendo's presence at E3 as much as you want... facts talk otherwise. And most people considered Nintendo the winner at E3, for very fair reasons.
I take it I made a mistake with my comment about Pokemon Ruby/Sapphire. I could have sword I saw a trailer at some point with actual gameplay in it. It was when they showcased Groudon and Kyogre becoming Mega Pokemon and it showed the game using X/Y's engine. Anyway, bubble up. You hit the nail on the head.
Nintendo had all the bases covered in the best way of the three. They gave every Nintendo fan what they want to see (or hear in the case of Starfox) and threw the bombshell of a big second party exclusive when everybody thought the surprises were over. Nintendo were the only ones of the three that had true bomb shells there.
For me... easily Nintendo won E3. Neither of the other companys made me jump up and yell hell yea! When they showed the new Zelda and said it was open world... I lost it lol! Then the new Amiibo figures, the games, three days of tree house demo's, the Smash Tournament, the best buy event. Nintendo did AMAZING this year. Oh also the surprise of getting Bayonetta 1 with the purchase of 2 made me smile from ear to ear.
Nintendo had 3 or 4 old fashioned RPGS that will be onlien to buy. That was enough to win me over. Oh yeah .... ZELDA! I love Hyrule Warriors as well.
Man who cares?? Why do people allow themselves to fall into this every year? The important thing is all platforms showed things people wanted to see. "Winning" E3 doesn't even mean anything. WE got what we wanted. Delegating 1 company the winner takes that away from the gamers. It was a good show. Just let it be.
Nintendo easily won. Butthurt fail article
In my mind they did. They had the best selection of games that I found interesting.
Agreed! They convinced me to get a Wii U this fall. It's going to pair up nicely with my Vita, PS4, 3DS. Only thing that annoyed me was the delay on Smash for 3DS.
Nintendo and Sony did well imo.
"Now the dust has settled... did Nintendo really win E3?" No. People are only claiming that because MS clearly won over Sony this year and many of those Sony faithful fans would rather ally with another competitor than admit defeat. MS learned from 2013 and came out with their A game with 90 minutes straight of awesome games. Sony did a 2013 MS, but the fans cannot admit it. They'd rather side with Nintendo than admit MS has a one up on them. Nintendo did great though, their games looked fun. But to assume Nintendo 'won' E3 I think is just wishful thinking. Wii U is in dire straits nowadays and the gamers want to show they still support a nostalgic brand from their childhood.
To have that effect on You Tube (and the like) watchers with a mere preprepared video was genius. Its seemingly casual, humourful, presentation hid a real steely intent on appealing to the kinds of people who loved the N64 and the Gamecube. And the humour held no punches- it playfully attacked some of Nintendo's previous conservatism. I liked the look of early WiiU game ZombiU but apart from that not so much until E3 2014. In 40 ish minutes Nintendo more or less made the WiiU pretty cool to a portion of people.
