Why did everyone enjoy Evolve except me?

James O'Connor of MMGN: Certainly there’s potential for Evolve to be great, but I am wary of any multiplayer game that is absolutely and utterly reliant on the skill level of a single individual. If you have a regular group of friends you play with, this might not be such an issue, and outside of E3 – where players actually have a chance to play around and learn the game’s systems a bit better – maybe this will be less of a problem. But my one round of Evolve was rubbish, I’m sorry to say. Whether that’s the fault of the game, or the guy playing the monster in our game was just unusually awful, or whether E3 is simply a terrible place to experience a game like this for the first time, I’d have a harder time saying. (E3, Evolve, PC, PS4, Xbox One)

It hasn't grabbed me yet either. But I understand the appeal to something different. I just don't think I would be entertained by it.

You're not alone. I have no interest in this game at all.

I haven't seen anything that makes me want to play. At this point, I couldn't care less.

I thought the concept sounded cool, but then once I saw it and heard more details it sounded quite limited. My interest died with E3, but it could be revived with more info and footage I guess.

I think it is a cute idea. But not enough to make me want to buy it. It is rent.

As a solo gamer I wouldn't be interested. But ill be playing with the same team I played L4D with so I cant wait for some more coop team action!

This game highly interests me. But I love games that require communication amongst team members to win. I could see the game being boring if the person playing the monster sucks, and I expect it to take about a month for the players to figure out what they like and what they are good at.

Evolve probably will be overshadowed by the masses. Hopefully not though..

It releases same day as BF: Hardline... anyone with sense would get Evolve, but history/consumer ignorance says BF: Hardline will outsell it.

I cannot wait to get my hands on this. One of my top titles to look out for.

I'm looking forward to it. It reminds me of Giants: Citizen Kabuto. I sunk a lot of hours into that game.

Moods, sometimes I fire up the most amazing games just to turn them off a few minutes later, gotta be in the right mood.

It looks great and I will hopefully pick it up at some point, but the one thing that does concern me is the game's concept. Four players hunt one player in a map, but that could get a bit boring/tedious after a while.

Same here, i'm not hyped about this game either. sorry!

Because you're an attention seeker.

Because you're a contrarian.

You need to go against popular opinion for the sake of going against popular opinion.

In a sea of shooters on console nowdays it really does take something special to grab a foot in that market.

It looks conceptually like a fun game, but a little one dimensional for my tastes.

I probably won't get this, there's too many other shooters out there and ones that appeal to my tastes more to want to invest in another one.

I was interested in it, but I can see a scenario where you would have a group of hunters that are so good that the person playing as the monster wouldn't stand a chance, and who inevitably would end up rage quitting. That is the biggest weakness that I see with this game.

The game just seems to be missing any real challenge if you are one of the hunters. They seem to have a huge advantage, especially seeing as how they can see the monster's tracks and be able to tell where it's hiding at.
