Questions about the identity of the hero in the Zelda Wii U trailer split the franchise’s fan base and spawned plenty of speculation. Luckily, we learned the truth.
Adult timeline consist of Wind Waker - Phantom Hourglass and Spirit Tracks. The timeline that is more modern than the Child and Defeated Link timeline.
Link hairstyle is the same as Awakening, Zelda I and II. Not to mention the trailer had no castle in range but small villages.
But that's assuming that all of the land there is. When link rides off when he gets attacked he moves into a far smaller area confined to pathways and water streams.
Link having a kid with Princess Zelda...and he has to go save his or her parents from Ganondorf....doesnt sound too far fetched to me...Either way I am soooooo getting a WiiU for this game and for Smash brothers.
You do realize that IS Link in the trailer right? They confirmed it and said they were just joking when they said 'they never said it was Link'....Internet, the place where jokes can never be made.
Yes Summons, I am aware of Aonuma clarifying that it was Link. I'm just saying that if in a future game Link was a dad with a kid, I'd be cool with that. Heck if it turned out this was indeed Link's child and to that point his daughter, I'd be okay with that too. Any new ventures not yet trekked by Zelda are welcome in my book.
Except real world guns. Don't put in guns or that will just ruin the charm.
I think only the people who don't know zelda lore properly were crying. Link will always be a male, go read the wikipedeia to know why. Now for those that say links gender doesn't matter, why do u think zelda is a female? Go play zelda 2 or atleast read the plot synopsis, it will tell u abt their relationship. And u say link should be female and zelda should be male? Well thats why i said go to wikipedia and read abt link and u should realise that very basis of zelda games start with a very simple setting or base story which thoroughly states why link will always be a male and why zelda is always a female. Link is Zelda's warrior.
The thing is that Hyrule Historia talks about how all the Links, Zeldas and Ganons are connected in some loose way, possibly as reincarnations of previous ones. If we're going with the idea that they all share the same soul, can it not be possible for a soul to enter a body of the opposite gender of its previous one? I honestly don't think it's as cut-and-dry as all that. I don't believe there are defined rules about Link being a boy and Zelda being a girl. Heck, I wouldn't even mind a female descendant of Demise. As long as it's a good story and interesting, I honestly don't mind it either way.
While, I too agree that i too wouldn't mind playing as female link if zelda turns male, but it just doesn't seem possible as it clearly stated link is a boy taking the sword of destiny. And they can let us play as zelda and i would welcome it, but it would be really weird for zelda to save link as link is supposed to be zelda's warrior. It is quite a dilema. Maybe Anouma will find a way around this in future zelda games or abandon the lore or maybe the wiki is wrong or maybe an alternate timeline are all a possibility.
Aonuma found a way to take 30 years worth of loosely connected material and created a three way split timeline. He'll figure out a way if he really wants to. :P
Zelda games never did read as "The Legend of Link' did it. Having her as a protagonist never hurt nobody... After playing with her in Smash Bros, wtf can't she star in a "ZELDA" game!
That wasn't a trailer, that was a tech demo. Also, the sheer scale of the rendered area in the announcement trailer and the noticeably higher polygon count show that the new build is an upgrade in about every sense.
I swear, you people actually believe turning off shaders and limiting the number of light sources is somehow more graphically intensive.
What Zelda at E32014 has over the tech demo: - Grass tech - Better Dynamic lighting - Multiple AI on the screen - Higher polygon count on Link - More models and a larger space are in the 2014 trailer(Yet the framerate is still the same, this is important) - Is actually relevant to the final product
Honestly, it just seems to me you're butthurt they didn't put a spider boss battle in the trailer.
Nintendo caused a social media storm at this year’s E3 by becoming the most talked about games company on Twitter. According to social media monitoring service Crimson Hexagon, Nintendo dominated last week’s E3 event with 47 per cent of all related tweets mentioning the company. The most popular tweet was from Nintendo of America’s official account teasing Shigeru Miyamoto’s appearance on the Treehouse live-stream.
Among other popular tweets was one from Twitter user @dropkickpikachu saying: “”Nintendo has just shown more playable female character’s in one game preview than the other companies have all E3 so far.” Crimson Hexagon also reports that the Nintendo hashtag was used 30,000 times during the event, while #e32014 up to 55,000 times.
Competitors Sony and Microsoft took 28 and 25 per cent of the Twitter conversation, respectively. It’s clear Nintendo shined at last week’s gaming event with the addition of Treehouse live-streams on top of its Digital Event – did you contribute to Nintendo’s social media storm? I love any theory that ties the new game to Wind Waker.
