Shuhei Yoshida - Sony is 'Friendly' With Oculus, Sample Each Other's Work

VRFocus - Last week Oculus VR CEO Brendan Iribe made it clear that his company and its Oculus Rift virtual reality (VR) headset didn't see itself as a competitor to Sony Computer Entertainment (SCE) and its Project Morpheus VR headset on PlayStation 4. In fact Iribe went as far as to state that the two companies were closer than most others. Now SCE worldwide studios president Shuhei Yoshida has backed up those remarks, stating that his company is 'friendly' with Oculus VR and even revealing that the two sample each other's work.

The story is too old to be commented.

If VR is going to be viable they need be working together and setting VR industry standards otherwise we will end up format war issues.

Exactly, both seem motivated to bring the best tech possible for the gaming/entertainment industry, and work together developing it.
Instead of going head-to-head for the sake of winning over the most supporters

I agree Bennibop- It's in both their interests to make sure VR is successful and that consumers know that BOTH products are of quality.

It does VR no good, to see either one fail.

I'm not huge into VR though, but I still don't want to see it fail. I think it has tons of potential, even outside of gaming.
