Bethesda enters the free-to-play market with BattleCry, a 32 player highly stylized combat game. COG gets their hands on it and give you their first impressions of the game inside.
"Walking into Bethesda's booth at E3 this year I have to admit that I wasn't really expecting much. Last year we had first looks at Wolfenstein: The New Order, Elder Scrolls Online and The Evil Within. This year they were focusing on The Evil Within again as it gears up for an October release and its new free-to-play title Battlecry. Despite my initial cynicism I'm happy to say I walked out of the Bethesda booth with a much more positive outlook than I had going in. I should point out right from the start that I’m a notorious hater of the free-to-play model. I understand the logistics behind it but for one reason or another it’s never appealed to me. Surprisingly, Battlecry might be the game to turn it around for me. Not because it’s necessarily doing anything different but quite simply because it’s fun to play."
