Ubisoft developer sheds some light on what has next-gen done for them, game development wise.
Well we don't want another Far Cry 3 incident...
Honestly, Far Cry 3 looked amazing (on PC).
I agree ,i also prefer it on pc.
Yea but the E3 built for FC3 was better, the first time they show it.
Yep, I was playing it on PC just the other day and it still looks amazing even after playing lots of newer games. Downgrade or not, it's definitely one of the best looking games of last generation.
Naughty dog shops the game with even better visuals that they show. Offtopic but had to give credit!
I believe all that fuss was made because they could have gone only with PC version during their first reveal. Still, that doesn't justify all the bullshots after that. Another interesting case is Watch Dogs where I believe they just didn't know the final specs of next-gen consoles during its reveal in 2012. This should be different, considering that they are already showing it on PS4.
Indeed. Ubisoft still makes some of the most beautiful games in the industry, by the way.
Well this is Ubisoft we're talking about. Funny how this seems to have become a repeated pattern...
Shots fired. Pew pew
Shots fired against themselfs? They are the developers that always seem to downgrade their games.
I can agree with that.
So expect to see the PC version mapped to console controllers at every show then. Fool me once, Ubi...
Two different dev teams make Watch dogs and Far Cry. And how is the division an example when it doesn't ship for another year?
Yeah, but the far cry development team did almost the same thing with far cry 3.
Did anyone mention the division? No, they did not.
Well as long as it gets better from what they showed at E3 im okay with it!
The Game We Show Is The Game We Ship....like watchdogs or the division.
Lol thats pretty funny and scary at the same time. I really hope they don't F up the Division, really looking forward to that game.
Oh God not the Division! Hope that doesn't get hit.....waaay more hyped for THAT than any other upcoming shooter.
Last time I checked, The Division didn't ship yet.
Everyone on the planet knows The Division didn't ship yet, but when a company (Ubisoft) is known for a few downgrades people start to ask questions and get skeptical early. "The game we show is the game we ship" To me that sounds like something that wouldn't have been said had Watch Dogs not happened. Of course they didn't know specs in 2012 of these new machines BUT we have a remake of GTA5 coming out and that's going to look much better (IMO) than Watch Dogs. It's all a bunch of excuses
This game will look amazing! Thats not my issue though. FC3 was too damn repetitive. Liberate this, this and this, 2 minutes of story and repeat. I hope they mix it up a bit. With destiny, dragon age, my mmos, there wont b much time for much.
yeah yeah ...like you did with Watch Dogs , however FarCry 4 looks like last gen (ps3 x360) so they ll probably deliver the same quality
two different devs.......
dont care... ubisoft is ubisoft and if the game is not finished at the time of release ..will be degraded to no matter what
Aren't both games made by Ubi Montreal??
You need to get your eyes checked. Far Cry 4 is hands down one of the best looking games shown at E3. The PS3 and 360 couldn't dream of running visuals like that. Far Cry 4 looks better than Far Cry 3 and the PS3 and 360 couldn't even run Far Cry 3 properly. It was severely downgraded compared to the PC version and it still ran like complete crap on the PS3 and 360 with screen tearing and lots of stutter. Far Cry 4 is going to look absolutely amazing on PC and the newer consoles. Edit: And... your second comment proves you to be a completely clueless troll. The vast majority of games Ubisoft has released never experienced a downgrade. Far Cry 3 and Watch Dogs are the exception. Ubisoft has released many dozens of games, perhaps hundreds, and the majority of them were not downgraded.
Not gonna fall for this again, Ubisoft.
* On PC
The same as Farcry 3 and Wathdoges right?
I just hope the story in Far Cry 4 doesn't run out of steam as I feel it did in Far Cry 3 after setting foot on the second island. Going after Hoyt was boring, especially after the higly entertaining character Vaas was out of the picture. I also feel they should have done much more with CIA agent Huntley, he was an interesting character too.
Played the PS4 version at E3. Looks and plays great. So, I'm excited.
