Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain Runs At 1080p/60fps On The PS4

Can't imagine why they wouldn't be able to get this game running at 1080p 60 fps for xbox1. they should spend more time optimizing for that console.

played GZ a while back and the shadows were very last gen. also the lack of SSAO or HBAO needs to change. fantastic gameplay but barely a title that can be considered next gen.

you should've got the ps4 version, truly next gen. I wouldn't put so much into a console whose attach rate to the franchise isn't so strong. MGS games don't sell well on MS consoles. Kinda like the Wii U dilemma.

Probably the same resolution as Ground Zeroes on Xbox One, which is 720p 60fps its also on last gen so it will be sub 720p on those at 30 fps.

That was on the old SDK I can see 900p 60 frames Maybe 1080p 60 frames.

Even IF they managed to get it to 1080p on the xbone which I really doubt , there is no way it would be 60fps as well , unless they make a large amount of downgrades to visuals and post processing like AA

Cool. Would like to see X1 get to 1080p on this as well. Wont hinder the fun but with the 10% GPU unlocked hopefully it's not too late to implement on X1. If not give us 900p at least. Kojima is in bed with Sony so I'm not really optimistic about it lol.

They are NOT just freeing up that 10%.....It's going to go on a game by game basis, and NOTHING that has been in development will benefit from that at all. Only future games may benefit, but probably wont because you can't just tell current Kinect owners to throw their Kinect in the trash or get a worse looking version because they have a Kinect

While I agree with your first few points, you are incorrect regarding the Kinect.

It won't matter if you have a Kinect plugged in or not. What MS is doing is allowing the developer to decide whether or not to enable Kinect in-game. Basically the developer will choose either Kinect functionality or more resources. Simply unplugging the Kinect will not free up those resources. The free-up is software-related.

ouch now it hurts that Kojima clearly shows which console is superior huh? ..you know that FOX ENGINE was made because the inferior crap X360 system couldnt hold MGR rising engine which was the same as MGS4?? so they dropped MGR to Platinum (making an inferior game of MGS series) and refined their engine renaming it FOX ENGINE so the XBOX players can play at decent quality MGS games ..so guess who moneybagged Kojima to make games for their inferior machines ...MS, not SOny..PS consoles were always the first developement bases for Kojima games ..so be happy that MGSV was not PS4/PS3 exclusive and Kojima san managed to release it for the MS consoles

Sony didn't hire Kojima to sabotage the Xbox Ones hardware design. You just have to accept that the PS4 is more powerful than the Xbox One. It really isn't that big of a deal.

It looks nice, but nowhere near a true next gen game. You can tell that this game was designed with the old generation in mind.

Just because the game is high res and the frame rate is 60 doesn't make it a next-gen game.

When I think of next-gen, I want huge changes in lighting, lots of grass and foliage and lots of tessellation instead of flat textures and a blade of grass here and there.

This game is just lacking a lot in the visual department. You'll see what I mean once real next gen games start coming out (like the Division and Uncharted 4).

I know what you mean, you can tell its cross gen but to me it still looks good, the lighting is very good and so is the weather effects, also textures are fine and it runs smooth, thats all I need in a game, not every game can push the visual boat out.

I don't think this is a shock to anyone that has been following MGS news, it was 1080p 60fps on Ground Zeroes so they would be foolish to not do it with The Phantom Pain.
P.S most likely 900p/60fps on xbox one but who knows.
