Endlessbacklog's Phil shows 30 minutes of Destiny's alpha footage.
So far I'm loving the destiny alpha
Yeah really surprised at this one, game is really Awesome... Alpha is really polished and well done.. this is going to be an amazing game. .____........___... .____||......||.......|___|| ||.........___||............ ||
Yeah me too,it makes me want to play the final game even more.
Loving the multiplayer, not fussed on the coop section
I'm love both the alpha and the beta:)
Bloody amazing. If this is how good the Alpha is, I shudder to think how good the full game will be.
I was thinking the same thing. controls are tight and the game has good polish even in Alpha.
I have to say that I am also impressed by the "Alpha". I put that in quotes as it's clearly not an alpha build, but I see where they are going with it since "pre-beta" sounds a little odd. ;D At any rate, the design is simply amazing with awesome vistas to see in the background. The controls are tight and while there are some Halo influences, which is expected, it's not a re-skin or anything as linear as Halo. Destiny had me wowed at E3 last year but had started to lose me with some of the talk since then but the alpha has me back in line and eagerly awaiting the release.
Now a lot of PS fans will finally understand the magic of bungie. Imagine how hard it was for xbox players to explain what was so amazing about halo when people kept saying oh it looks boring running around shooting aliens. It's the bungie magic my friends.
I've played the halo series with friend who owned them on xbox and 360 and Destiny just feels better. It looks amazing, controls are smooth and fluid, frame rates are solid. Destiny plays so much better than halo that Bungie may have made the halo killer in their own studio. X1 bro's better pray Bungie uses everything to make Destiny and apply it to halo, call it Halo: Destiny.
I have played Destiny and yes it is amazing, but halo is halo, it has pitch perfect controls i don't think it needs adjustments. It's an arena shooter without iron sights. And the last halo was released almost 2 years ago, I'm not sure why you're comparing that to Destiny which is a nex gen game, just wait till you see the next gen halo next year. And bungie isn't making halos anymore, 343 is. I've heard it many times, "oh i played halo at my friends and it's not that great". Either you didn't play it enough or it's just not your type of game at all. It's like me saying sunset overdrive is so much better than resistance, just because insomniac is making an Xbox One game now. I have all the resistance games and they're all great.
1) you're correct, 343 is making halo now, I forgot . 2) I never said halo was a bad game or series. 3) the comparison is easy considering halo began a Bungie game. 4) Bungie still may have made the halo killer in their own studio.
Well that's arguable, destiny isn't really a multiplayer focused game, it seems like it'll be huge for its campaign. But if anyone can kill halo it would be bungie themselves so all the power to them. But i was just saying Destiny's release isn't coinciding with any nex-gen halo game so yea it's definitely possible that it'll be huge this year, but then what if halo 5 tops it next year? it's all possible. If next year after halo 5 is released Destiny still remains better then maybe you can say that. I get to play both so it's a win win for me, what bothers me is when people (not necessarily you) call Destiny a halo killer just because they can play it on PS and it gives them closure because they have a substitute for halo now.
You obviously didn't play the alpha bc it has campaign and multiplayer, and your campaign character with all your unlocked abilities carries over to multiplayer and multiplayer helps level your character up. It's executed very well. And Paystation gets tons of exclusive content including a multiplayer map on mars.
Destiny just jumped right the **** to the top of my most anticipated list, the Alpha is bloody amazing. What's amazes me most is how every single gameplay mode is a ton of fun, Story, Explore, Strike, Crucible...it's all amazing.
Im playing the Alpha too and it seems very smooth. Havent experienced any problems yet apart from that it would be good to know what some things actually are when buying them (sometimes/with other AI's you can review details). I was buying weapons/armor from the decrypter guy or whatever and you dunno what you actually get, in terms of performance stats and required lvl to use it etc. so I bought stuff that I cant use before I have reached lvl 9 or beyond and it is a waste of glimmer when I could have optimized myself better with uppgrades and equipment for the level I am currently at or just saved the damn money. Ill look more into it tomorrow. Perhaps I just missed something I am very tired tbh but it would suck to be stuck with equipment I cannot use. I've only played a bit tonight to lvl 5, def gonna pick it up again tomorrow. :)
If I have any complaints about the Beta it's that there's nothing to do with the weapons you don't want except break them down into glimmer. What Destiny needs and I can't imagine it won't have by retail is a trading system, a way for players to swap weapons and armor for either glimmer or other weapons and armor. A buddy of mine has 2 really good rocket launchers but he can't do anything but use just one of them because there's no way to just give it to me or drop it on the ground.
