The developers of Lords of the Fallen don’t like all the comparisons to Dark Souls, but there’s really no other way to put things. This is Dark Souls, next-gen… and is that such a bad thing?
I'll take Bloodborne thank you.
Why not take both?
Agreed think this game looks pretty good tbh, looking forward to it :)
because dumbs exist.
both for me
Idk, I'm still not sold on Lords of the Fallen after seeing some gameplay. It looks decent I guess, I'm still keeping my eyes on it. It just doesn't excite me like Bloodborne does though.
That game is shaping up to not be a Souls game it has no magic and defense mechanics. Hell I am starting to think it is more a hackn slash than an RPG. Don't get me wrong I look forward to seeing more even if it is no Souls game and is not trying to be one. I just don't think it is that new Souls game.
I will drive the Ferrari and the Lamborghini. Fanboyism does not let you play more "good games".
Though I'm hoping for this game to be as good as the devs promise it to be, I wouldn't call this the new-gen Dark Souls. Bloodborne it is. This one could be a good game regardless.
https://www.youtube.com/wat... There's some gameplay footage for those that haven't seen it. I didn't hear of the game so I was curious how it played. Combat is very familiar, but I would like to see more of it.
I'm not liking where Bloodborne seems to be heading, and I hate feeling this way. F***! Maybe LOTF will be more my thing.
Shame for you then
What about Bloodborne's direction dont you like? Just curious.
No magic and defense mechanics, it is shaping up to be a strategic/challenging hack n slash game with its target of fast paced action not an RPG. I think people are expecting this to be the new Souls game they may end up disappointed. I personally am trying to keep an open mind and instead of expecting a Souls game I am expecting a new experience by a great developer.
From what I can gather, and I may very well be wrong, is that you have only the two weapons, which grow in power as you go along. The onus also seems to be on aggression, meaning you have to attack more and defend less. This, as any shield packing, loot collecting Souls player can tell you, isn't very "Soulsy". Also, and I get a bit of flack for this, it seems there won't be a magic system. As a guy who Mages the f**k out of any RPG type game, this would suck the most. But yeah as I said, I could be wrong.
After reading both of your comments I looked into the game a little more. Theres not too much info but, from what I can see, you two are right. They make it sound like you will just have the same two weapons, I find that dissapointing as I love looking for new gear. My excitement has been toned down quite bit now, especially since its looking like RPG elemets are be curtailed. Meh, oh well.
@Ocsta: It's been confirmed that there will many qeapons to acquire in this game. To make this statement a lot more true, watch this video: https://www.youtube.com/wat...
LOTR needs to show more places, give more details, and get reviews before I am interested. The last thing I am going to do is get hyped by a game that has a pretty good chance of being mediocre. I personally don't see how it looks like DkS, it kind of makes me think of Darksiders meets Dragon Age.
For me Lords of the Fallen isn't next-gen Dark Souls. This article is very good. Everything on it about LotF is good information. Combat style is like in some fighter game. I want to see more about this game.
